I like this idea.

G and Laughton as a PK look dangerous together.

Maybe the biggest threat to score short handed since Richards and Gagne back in 09-10

Would give him a shot there. Unless they are convinced he has to play C.

- Marc D

This is exactly what gave me the idea that they should try it.

When will the Flyers regret signing Voracek to that huge contract.

Oh I understand that haha. I'm just lamenting the fact.

My theory is if Hak feels more comfortable with Umberger then play Umberger. I just hate the idea of limiting Schenn and Laughtons minutes because he doesn't trust their linemate.

Wow... already huh? I don't think Jakes gonna match his point totals from last season, but I think from here on out he's good for 65-75 points for at least the next 5-6 seasons.

I still think Laughton's faceoff struggles are the main reason his line sat on the bench so much yesterday. So I'd be happy if Hakstol tried him on the LW of any of the top three lines.

- PhillaBully

oh yea i forgot this is philly if you can't fight you're useless
i sure thought hakstol was going to change that mentality

Gagner gets pounded like a drum last night, and now he's a healthy scratch. Adding insult to injury.

I've seen enough of B. Manning for the time being, looks like he's a fringe NHL player at best.

Hasn't Raffl historically done well in faceoffs? I'm not saying switch him and Laughton, just wondering. He centered the fourth line at times and I think he played center for Austria. Just asking so someone can do the heavy lifting for me.

we have two the of most over paid players who can't score 5v5. No wonder we suck. Add that cap hit to the Vinny, MacDonald, Umberger, Gagner. Holy poop

I think Gagner is the reason that third line is being used so sparingly. Hak just don't trust Gagner
- PhillySportsGuy

Can't quite blame him for that. Last night was the first time I honestly noticed Gagner working hard in the defensive zome

he is but lets think about this having a younger player like him in and out of the line up will do nothing for his development. we know amac and know he'll always suck. why not giving manning a long look? we're not winning the cup for the next few years any way

People, including me, freaked out about Giroux's contract after he started 13-14 slowly. I won't be making that mistake again with Voracek.

It's Philadelphia. If we won 7 Stanley Cups in a row, people would find something to complain about with the team. Some people aren't happy unless they can miserable.

Fair points, but I don't think Manning will develop into anything other than a fringe nhl player. I'd let Alt, or Hagg play some games and see how they look.

Having L. Schenn in and out of the lineup like a yo-yo serves no purpose. He is what he is.

But if we take Manning out, it's just more fuel for the Akeson/Gustafsson "he never got a chance" talk.

So trade them both now, while they still have value, because all non-5v5 scoring is irrelevant?

Time to try someone else on the LW to spark some ESGs.

I'd die happy if I could see just one. I'm still reveling in the 2008 World Series win.

If they don't start scoring more at ES, they will remain a bubble team outside looking in

No, it seems clear that they're both terrible players on albatross contracts. Maybe we can move them both for a 7th rounder apiece.
