How about splitting for Europe? - mayorofangrytown
If he goes to Europe, pretty sure he wouldn't be making as much $$. |

That could be doable. But someone else has to carry the mail on this one. I could probably sneak in to the locker room using a disguise, but I have no idea how to get crystal meth, 6 pounds of heroin, or a sufficient amount of Oxy to get in to his bag.
Can BiggE or Tangent point me in the right direction?

He probably won't do it, but he may want to consider being sent to the AHL. His best chance to play in the NHL would be to show other teams that he can still play. He won't get that chance in Philadelphia. But I'm sure he's not too keen on riding the bus. - jmatchett383
The Phantoms could really use Vinny right now. They have a lot of injuries.

If I were Vinny I would take that route. Better to be playing than sitting. Especially when you want to show people you can still play.

So since it's really slow in here waiting for the game tonight how about Columbus?
Big expectations this season and they're 0-6 out of the gate. Todd Richards could be fired soon. They're looking to improve their D.
Would anyone consider moving Streit for two firsts? This year and 2017? |

I don't think they would go for that trade. Streit would have an impact but not THAT large an impact. |

If the "anyone" in that statement is an NHL GM...no absolutely not
If the "anyone" in that statement is a Flyers fan...yes 100% shutup and take my defenseman
I would do it just for CBJ first this year...which wouldnt happen |

30 goals allowed in six games. Think about that for a second.
THIRTY GOALS ALLOWED in SIX games.
Two things about that: 1. The message boards would be on fire if that was the Flyers, and 2. Not only is there an NHL defense worse than our heroes, it is DEMONSTRABLY worse than anything we have imagined in recent years.
The forwards backcheck sporadically. The defense is slow-footed, is not terribly skilled and lacks overall hockey sense. The goaltender appears shell-shocked at the chances being given up.
After watching Columbus play thus far, I can honestly say this: Even when the Flyers haven't been great, even when the defense was not mobile and lacked skill, it was never quite that bad

Ha! Yeah.
I assume that the coach will get the gate, and I also assumed that perhaps some system changes and "New Coach Smell" will help them tighten it up somewhat, but they remind me of Laviolette's last year, the lockout year, when we played Kurtis Foster and Bruno Gervais and the like
In other words: Sometimes, the talent you have determines exactly what your ceiling will be, no matter who the coach is |

Even Bob's been bad for them. His GAA is above 8. 8!!!
How desperate are they? Their team is just coming apart. They need to make a move on the back end. Something to anchor them. I don't think their D is as bad as it's playing. They have no confidence. |

They were bad that year, obviously -- no question
But I don't recall them getting strafed night after night. They were not nearly good enough to win, but they were just "regular horrific," like Buffalo last season. Just inept
I would have lost my mind if they were giving up four, five, six, seven goals a night

Honestly, what else do they have to trade. Their GM has already admitted he's actively shopping for back end help and can't find it. How a bout a 1st and a 2nd? |

I can remember stretches like that though. They were out of a lot of games in the first period. They gave up a lot of 5 and 6 goal games. |

They're more in the market for a defensive defenseman than someone like Streit. For a pair of first rounders, they might as well take a shot at acquiring Buff |

Wasn't jarmo kekalainen getting, like, a ton of credit for the Jacket's turnaround?
Does he get any of the blame for this or is he just gonna heave Todd Richards overboard? |

In the old days, a GM would sell out to fix that -- you wouldn't piss away a whole season with the kind of forwards they have. You'd see first-rounders and high-end prospects in play, right now
This era of the NHL isn't like that. Chris Pronger isn't getting traded multiple times anymore. GMs just aren't going to do it |

Byfuglien isn't exactly a stay at home guy. If I'm Winnipeg I might ask for Werenski and a 1st. Do they do that? |

Portsline thought they were going to let him go yesterday.
I think it's the Clarkson curse. They should have held onto Horton.

Get a load of some of these scores. Between the end of November to the end of December, I think they won one time, which is one more time than a team made up of random internet commenters won. Then, they rang off nine losses in a row to start 2007: http://www.hockey-referen...teams/PHI/2007_games.html
That team was BAD.
I was at this game and it was far worse than the score indicated: http://www.hockey-referen...xscores/200610280PHI.html |

I think that would be an overreaction by Columbus. Their best course of action would probably be to make a smaller move and hope Bob doesn't play an entire season with a sub .850 save percentage |
