My only worry is where do we go from there. I'd feel leagues more comfortable if Hines was around. Starting to think we really missed out there. If Claud Julian gets fired then I'd feel more comfortable, but would his system work with our personnel? - Victoro311
Guy Boucher is coaching in Sweden and has had some NHL success in the past. I don't know the ins and outs of it all but maybe he could get out of that job to take an NHL job. |

Rossi already saying we need to trade Malkin - YouMeAndDupuis9
I wonder who is worse at fantasy hockey - Rob Rossi or Mike Milbury? I bet they both routinely finish last in their fantasy leagues . 99% of the fans in the CEC on any given night know more about hockey than Rossi. |

Perhaps this is damning with extremely faint praise, but Boucher outcoached Dipso Dan by several miles in the Tampa-Pittsburgh playoff series a few years back. Why was he run out of Tampa -- bad coaching or not seeing eye to eye with Stevie Y.?
Yeah yeah, we were missing key players in that series, so what else is new? We were still favored, and rightly so over a team with zilch playoff experience, prior to playing in typical nonchalant fashion and choking away a 3-1 lead in games.

I remember two years ago being told by a habs fan that Malkin was getting traded for ovi. I said that's a terrible trade on the caps part. He said "it's pretty much a done deal". Haha good times. |

Ya I honestly don't know why he was fired. Also not sure why he couldn't find an NHL job after. I just know the pens wanted an unknown guy so they hired Johnston. Doesn't seem to be working great. Might be worth considering I thought. |

Fantasy hockey? Milbury's track record with real hockey speaks for itself. It's hard to believe this windbag still has a job. broadcasting. |

You werent responding to me but I think Kunitz would return a similarly aged top 4 defenseman or one on an expiring contract. Maybe even someone like Emelin.
Side note..I'd like to snag up Mattias Eckholm from nashville.
I think Perron should be extended too. I just like the way he plays (when healthy). Lots of skill and underrated grit. With Kooney and Duper at their ages...we need to keep our NHL top 6 wingers under 30. - YouMeAndDupuis9
So, we trade Kunitz for another Dman on the decline, an aging one too boot. Evelyn doesn't solve problems.
Yes, I'd like to snag Ekholm too, but let's be real ... we don't have the goods to get him. |

I doubt most fans care what style the team plays as long as they win. - jfkst1
F that garbage. Three of the leagues premier points producers and we go back to trapping a la Michel Therrien. No effing thank you!
As i recall the early days of the stretch pass that Bylsma employed, we were absolutely thrilled that the cork had been popped and the new style stopped stifling our offensive output. |

Because the team was winning again. Once other teams started shutting down the stretch passing and started coming up with good counter attacks for Bylsma's system, no one cared about the entertainment value of the team (and I did think they were one of the most entertaining teams in the league during Bylsma's tenure though that might be subjectivity). Not advocating for it and not sure it would work with the Pens roster, but I don't think anyone would care if the Pens played a boring system as long as they were successful doing so. |

I'm not saying sign the guy today. I'm just throwing out options. I personally don't care the system as long as it wins.
What do you think should be done? Keep the guy that is doing nothing to stop the bleeding? Hire Tortorella? Promote agnew or Tochet? Promote Sullivan? Try stealing an AHL voavh midseason? Try stealing a NHL assistant coach midseason? Don't just critisis, actually contribute. |

Your video is the flyers making fun of a team and that's somehow supposed to mean something? The flyers opinion on anything is of very little concern to me. Let alone them classlessly making fun of other teams during a game. |

And i'm not advocating bringing it back. I am just saying that i don't want to watch this years version of the penguins be a carbon copy of the NJ devils of years past. |

While it may have been a classless maneuver, it shows, for me, why Guy Boucher isn't coaching in the NHL right now. I wasn't focused on the flyers, I was focused on the fact that there wasn't a forecheck, with the slight exception to MSL circling. Is that truly how we would want our speedy workhorse players to react? To just stand still and await the attack?

I solely criticized Guy Boucher's style of coaching. It wasn't a slight on you.

You're correct. That wouldn't be ideal. But if it won games I'm all for it. Fact is we currently aren't winning games and something must change. If its not that we start winning it'll be the coach. So who would you perfer if that happens? |

So I got personally attacked because I said this team was fatally flawed from the start in how it was constructed, everything from the personnel to the mentality.
Now the chickens are coming home to roost. The angry mob with pitchforks and torches have turned their hatred from Sutter to Scuderi to now Johnston. Yes, if we just fire the coach, everything will be ok again. Crosby and Malkin, the supposed "leaders" of this team, will start playing like they care again (but hey, I know dey don care). Our weak-ass defensemen will magically start clearing the front of the net. Our mentally weak and fragile team will magically transform into a "never-say-die!" juggernaut. Yeah, it's all Johnston's fault! (and Obama's).
This sh!t show is only just beginning. Again, since you were all a bunch of Richards, I told you so. |
