Not a lot of coaching talent out there right now ... - chimpira
I'm not on the fire HCMJ team just yet but if he doesn't turn it around coaches like Sutter or Hitchcock may be available by then....Although they would most likely cost us a draft pick to hire |

I don't see Hitchcock as a fiery type either. What about Randy Carlyle? Or maybe a Psycho like Torts is a good choice to light a fire in their bellies. |

The team just looks passive, confused and tentative. Not sure what the reason is at this point? |

Well you did just name three traits that describe HCMJ. Passive, Confused, and Tentative. Just saying.

I mean we can blame the coach. I see it as the team having little time to play together as a unit in preseason. And, now we are seeing a lot of new players whoo haven't played together trying to figure it out? |

And why did they have "little time to play together as a unit in preseason"? That's because the coach was evaluating WBS talent all preseason long for pete's sake. |

It is frustrating, for sure. |

Carlyle is a good coach in my opinion, got a bad rap in Toronto. |

So many issues right now, and they all come down to coaching. Johnston is hot garbage. There's a reason he was in junior for so long without getting a look - he's a junior-level coach. Uncle Grandpa, here kiddies, have a game plan.
Passive, conservative, gutless, uninspiring. |

I find only putting up one against the stars way more concerning than getting blanked by the stars... I hope that we can get home and get something to click in Consol cus right now we're not looking to hot...
Also, I think talking about players' Corsi for individual games is a large waste of time. The sample size is too. I mean, just look at Crosby's numbers from this past game. It's far more productive to talk about specific plays when talking about individual games. |

But but but ... I went to the Rochester Institute of Technology Hockey Analytics Conference ... there it is, it's all in the graphs ... Penguins are awesum. |

I don't care what coach you have, If Sid plays like that they won't win many games. He's playing like he wants to get the coach fired.
By the way.... Get Plots off of Malkin's line already, Perron is clearly the better fit there. Also... the split PP is a joke. Borderline moronic. |

I wouldn't call the split PP moronic. Babcock occasionally split up Datsyuk and Zetterberg and had success.....but you're right. It's clearly not working for the Pens. They tried it and it hasn't worked so go back to 1 loaded line like they did at the end of the 2nd.

What's worse? Crosby getting all the new wingers while Malkin get the rest or Malkin benched on the PP? |

A couple of other things...
Anybody else notice the "free hand" penalty is a thing of the past. I mean, last night the yotes just reached out and grabbed any player that was able to get loose.
Also... Finally found an arena with worse ice than Consol. |

Crosby got 1 of the new wingers and Malkin is only playing 30 seconds less than Sid on the PP....but thanks for coming out |

BTW, is RW the only blogger on here who never engages with the readers of his own blogs? Too good for us, eh? Maybe he is too busy qualifying for the Corsi Olympics. - chimpira
Yes he thinks he is. You're better off judging by the few times I've seen him "engaging" with his readers. |
