Yeah, these things will hopefully fall into place by late November. I think we all came down to earth from our offseason playoff expectations last night, but just being competitive and not being like the last 2 years will be great.

The Kane-Eichel-Girgs line looked solid once they were put together. Lots of offensive zone time. ROR and Moulson were meh last night. Lots of new faces, will take time to build chemistry.

Girgensons gave those two some stability that neither Foligno nor Reinhart could. It's funny, because I see Reinhart becoming the kind of player that can calm things down when need be, but he definitely isn't that player yet.

Girgensons never seems to let things get to him. Even in his first year in the NHL he was just a calm, steady player out there. I think Reinhart can be like that at some point too, but I think overall he probably feels pressured to do well and it's throwing him off. He needs to just go out there and do what got him here in the first place.

Stay far away from ward, I'd definitely be interested in one of the flames goalies. Johnson was so disappointing last year and I'd be very uncomfortable playing him much. We're in the same spot with having to play greiss this weekend and he looked like garbage in the preseason. Hoping he won't suck tonight.

Yup. I really liked where he was development wise before his concussion as well. I thought he looked good in his limited preseason time here this year as well. Age wise, he's pretty close to Lehner, so maybe they kick the tires on him and see what happens.

With the investment TM put into roster do they trust Johnson and Makarov? Not quite sure they would or will. Will depend on how long RL is going to be out, if a long term injury I can't see us standing pat with that combo.

Just saw a twitter post by John Shannon from Sportsnet. Lehner's skate got caught in a rut. They won't know much until swelling subsides.

Yeah. I thought so too. I know many around here don't know much about him still other than he was a mess last year before they shut him down after finding out he was still suffering from the concussion. The little bit I saw of him in preseason made it seem he's definitely in a much better place this year.

Did Makarov even get any game time during camp/preseason here this year? Off the top of my head, I feel like he didn't.

And Evander Kane was just awesome last night you can just see he's going to have a huge year
