So this challenge rule will end the carrying the puck into the zone =. NOw it will be dump and chase all day long. WHy carry it in if a play that has occurred in 80 percent of the time in the history of hockey you carry the puck in now gets your goal waived off
- hubie

Why would it end carrying the puck into the zone? The goal was waived off because the Sabres were offside, and the linesman missed the call. Kane never should have had an opportunity to score in the first place.

Unless you're suggesting that linesmen miss 80% of all instances of teams being offside when they carry the puck into the zone. If that were true, and I don't think it is (I think they get the vast majority of offside calls right), then the NHL definitely needs a replay system for goals scored after close zone entries.

I thought he looked pretty good right up until then. was just about to complement him before i saw him hobbling around

As far as the goalie situation goes, we need to see how bad Lehner's injury is before talking goalie trades.

I think we need to talk defense trades before goaltending

I agree, but there's not a whole lot of top 4 d-men available.

Nope. I wouldn't expect any team to give those up. This year will be frustrating in that department. An addition of bogo will help

I'd bring Gorges and Pysyk into the top 4 and scratch one of Weber or Colaiacovo and bring in Donovan or Mccabe.

Gorges played well, so did Ristolainen even with the mistakes he made.

Just wish risto was our 2nd or 3rd best d-man right now. Hate all the pressure on him. Reminds me of how we treated Myers which is scary

Yet they won't bench him. His method of clearing the zone is just shoot it up the boards and hope a Sabre gets it; and more often than not it doesn't work. Too bad Guhle is injured.

I think he can be an effective player, but he should be nowhere near the top 4.

So the Lehner injury looks bad. Left FNC on crutches with his right foot in a boot.

Dump 25 and give Donovan a shot. I honestly think he'd be better. Our coach never really gave him much room to learn. One mistake and he'd sit for a month or more.

Hiller is my favorite short-term goalie option, but with how Ramo played the other night I'm not sure Calgary will be so fast to trade him.

Why are people surprised? Half the team is new. This is what, the second game, including preseason where the group has played together as a whole? There were some brutal moments to be sure, but as soon as Eichel scored the switch flipped. If that damn replay didn't take 8 minutes we could've kept the momentum. As it was we still outplayed them after that, but you just can't play 10 minutes and expect to win.

As was posted before there needs to be a time limit for replays(2 minutes), take a TV timeout, and if they can't figure it out in that time the call on the ice stands. Minimal loss of momentum that way. Also, my phone is bigger than the tablets they use for replays.

I kinda like it.

(Sober last night, too.). I hope they play the sax part for the 3rd or 4th goal of a game.

As ridiculous as it may seem, the song works especially if you're at the game. It doesn't translate as well on tv but that isn't the point anyway. Thumbs up
