Remember when Toronto was rockin'? Leafs were finally getting back to form with the arrival of Dougie. Jays were winnin' poop. We could be excited all year round for a few ones. Be nice to get TO back on the map in that regards. Hopefully with the Jays doing what they are doing they will turn into a destination for FAs. But I really think Price is going to Boston. - weirdoh

too much $$ - dmnted
not enough term
that puts him as a FA at 35, not a good age for a pitcher looking to cash in
he's still in his prime and should win the cy this year, retirement contract 7-8 years around 30

L.A.D., N.Y.Y., or TOR. I'd love it if he signed here, but I'm not banking on it.
Nylander hasn't been cut yet eh? - Arctic_AARDVARK
this is because there are back to back games tomorrow and saturday. MB already said he didn't want to play his vets in back to back situations if he could help it. You will see cuts Saturday or Sunday, and both Brown and Nylander will be heading back to the Marlies.

Watching Babcock on TSN. Babcock was asked about his opening night roster and he replies "I like these kids. So I don't know...are we going to have them here or are they going to be playing on the Marlies?"
I dont see how nylander can make the team without brown and vice versa, both look great out there...give them top 2 minutes with lupul or JVR for 5-6 games to start the season and see how they do
Well Mike unless the Jays go on a 6 year playoff run I'd say you're poop out of luck - DoubleDown
yeah, because a core with JVR,Kadri,Rielly,Gardiner, and Bernier in their prime with young guys like Nylander,Marner,Kapanen, Brown,Percy,Dermott,Bracco and the top 10 picks in 2015 and 2016, won't be able to make the playoffs for 6 years.

the leafs arent gonna risk spaling and panik with waivers, so Nylander and Brown arent both gonna make it. I can see one of em maybe over arcobello.

yeah, because a core with Kessel, Bozak, Versteeg, Schenn, and The Monster in their prime with young guys like Kadri,Blacker,Ryan, Ross,Frattin, will be in a complete rebuild in 6 years.
For a team that has drilled a message of patience, new Toronto Maple Leafs management has been able to restock the prospect cupboard rather quickly. Players with high-end skill successfully acquired through trade, via the draft and by signing undrafted free agents. Equally positive news was that a majority of the top prospects already in the Maple Leafs system metor exceeded expectations in 2014-15.
Meanwhile the Leafs also traded four members of last year’s top 20 to maintain roster flexibility, moving Matt Finn, Christopher Gibson, Tom Nilsson and Carter Verhaeghe to the Islanders for Michael Grabner, just before training camp opened. The end result is a significantly revamped top 20 prospect rankings compared to one year ago, stocked with players possessing exciting skill and much greater depth—especially at the forward positions.
