If Big Z was here, you wouldn't like the top 6 as much as you do.

Trevor Daley is a really good second pair d man that can run the pp
- homiedclown

I was tlaking about years' past when they won championships. But yes - Daley will be good for them when they have to let Seabrook or Hjalmarsson go for salary cap reasons in the next season or two. (it ws Keith that just extended wasn't it?)

Where would we need to snag someone to input them??

Yes it is by opening night.

- JVince11
well, another LH-D would be top of my list. Goalie would be another area.
Assuming there are quality pieces...similar to what NYI did last year...zoomed into the fast lane as a result.

A few months ago, all of you guys were saying that Gorges was barely a 3rd pairing guy and all washed up... and now he is a part of our "core" and we badly need him.

You guys are a real piece of work around here sometimes.

- JVince11

Who the (frank) said Gorges was a part of our "core"?

It's a lot of potential for a guy who has brought it every night for his entire career. Nobody EVER knocked his work ethic. The only issues with ROR - before the green truck incident - related to his demands for compensation (and I'm not sure how much of that was a story that got told because of Calgary's boondogle offer sheet.)

I know Z and Gringo might well turn out to be hot stuff, but I'm pretty sure ROR already is hot stuff, with plenty still left in the tank.

Nicely put...while the Sabres screwed up Gringo, he also was given opportunities and he didn't look like he had the eye of the tiger in him...not sure he would bring it every night like ROR does.
Big Z was a painful loss, I had high hopes for him when he matured...I know he is young too, but there were some signs there questioning how fast he would, or if he would mature. My bet is he will, and we will wish we could have kept him...but need to give to get.

How many teams have a great 1 - 6? We will be just fine. If nothing else not having the entire game in our end will make our D infinitely better than it was last season. No reason to stress.

I'm not sure he has yet. Potentially he is without a doubt

I liked them both when they were here but Grigorenko and Armia have KHL written all over them. They kind of seem like they will go down the Radulov type path.

Zadorov I loved here as well. He was a big body guy that was not afraid of anything on the ice and was surprisingly athletic for his size. In retrospect... we traded a young developing borderline top pairing D man for a proven, gritty, hard working, 1 Center and cornerstone. We paid him handsomely... now both us and Colorado have ot sit back and watch our decisions grow.

I honestly think that trade was one of the most even trades in NHL history. We even got McGinn a grity veteran who is perfect for a 3rd line role and can fill in on 2 line if needed and do some special teams.

Thats where im at...hes 20 years old with one full season under his belt. He played well last season no doubt. Still would like a little more insulation for him while hes growing is all. So when I see Gorges and Bogo going down I get worried

why in the f*ck would you want Radulov??? I have seen his name thrown around the Avs boards for months of people having him pegged into their fantasy lines.

Good lord.. that is just an awful choice. Why would you want to deal with him?? His contract demands will be worse than ROR was with you guys and his laziness will give Roy a heart attack behind the bench.

Roy coached him in the Q, and there were Russian papers saying he was going to sign or a deal is already in place to come to the Avs after this season (transfer agreement was suppose to happen this summer but didnt get finalized). If he comes back to the NHL, Roy will be all over to get his boy back again.

And when he played his worst, is when Myers was injured for 2 weeks and he was put as our number 1.

When Myers was moved, and Bogo took some tough minutes, he seemed to excel

I dont know? But if you think there is no reason to stress about this defense than maybe you are being naive. Risto is still only 20
- MCGUIZZY

I'd be stressed if we were primed for a run at the cup this year. We aren't. The good news is that we've got a LOT of the pieces in place. They are young, which is a good thing. We are probably missing another DMan but we've got a GM that is willing to spend to get guys that we need. Everything is good.
