He has final say the way Junior was the boss of the Sopranos. No major move that Shanahan et al disagree with is going to go through. - Zezel
No way Lou Lam takes the job with someone else making the decisions...Fans can believe what they want..
Lou already answered the question.. |

He does if he has even less input in Jersey, where he used to be the boss, he's 72, and Shanny and Babcock come calling with millions of dollars.
He can say what be wants in interviews, Shanahan still has a veto from above, that's just common sense at this point. |

Do not mind seeing Devin Setoguchi not make the club, but Curtis Glencross? He is a guy I have always liked, and actually wished the Leafs brought in during the 2013 season when he was a very solid, two way player in Calgary at the time. Not very happy I wont be able to see him in a Leaf uniform this season. In my opinion, he is a good guy to have around, especially on a rebuilding club. The guy would have given the team a solid defensive forward, big skater some skill also, and also a solid PK guy. Doesn't make much sense to me...I think this is a mistake, but in the grand scheme of things, a small detail.
Instead, the team decides to hang onto Brad Boyes and Michael Grabner, and again cut loose a bigger forward with a better two way game...? Now I don't get it again...makes very little sense.
However, maybe there is something I don't know. There must be something seriously wrong with his game or perhaps a physical problem or ailment going on with Glencross...?
Didn't show anything eh? I haven't been able to see much in preseason, living in the US...Nylander has been the best player on the ice from what Ive heard on TSN radio all week, and still wont make it, although I totally agree why. These guys need to be overly ready per the mouth of Mike Babcock, and I 100% agree not to rush him like the club did with Kadri and Gardiner. Too bad, I always liked Glencross and always thought he could help any team...? |

He didn't earn it in preseason. As it stands now they have 14 forwards under contract this year right now.
Glencross didn't do anything to further himself ahead of those already signed, not to mention the young guys |

It'd have to 100x more than a 1st for it to be jvr or kadri.
Bozak for zajac straight up make no sense. Swap similar garbage, but leafs get older, more expensive garbage for longer. That alone s worth a1st.
Giving up value for zajac is moronic. - burn
Haha....the difference between Zajac and Bozak is a 1st??? From poop ass New Jersey no less? |

@JeffMarek: But before that he was almost dealt to Tampa in a package that included Kaberle + Antropov + Hoglund in exchange for Vincent Lecavalier.
@JeffMarek: The deal was agreed upon then Tampa ownership nixed it. |

Nothings going to happen. NJ is barely a cap floor team at this point. No sense in moving a first just to get out of a contract at this point. |

Even still, teams like the Devils should hang onto 1sts and value them more than a top contender would. |
