i'm not sure about the contract; i assume an ahl standard salary. as far as i know, the contract doesn't get extended. the slide rule pushes the start of it the contract out.

I agree it seems odd. my understanding of the slide rule is at high level - but the explanation works with both nylander's season last year and tatar's first 2 seasons.
