Can we keep Sprong in the lineup and trade Kunitz and Lovejoy for a top 4 defenseman? Who are we targeting? - Dcoms
Kunitz looked good last game... and I want to at least see Lovejoy-Pouliot facing the level of competition we should expect them to (2nd pair or even 3rd pair) before making a full judgement. This game is making almost everyone look bad outside of our goalie. |

How so.... to what? Most of our players looking bad? I really don't think I need to start listing play by plays, but this is not the level we should expect from them obviously. |

Larkin looks really good. The Wings should just trade their old guys and go young. They might miss the playoffs but it will pay off sooner than later. They have TOO MANY good players but no great ones aside from maybe Larkin and Mantha. |

Would say that should have happened a 1-3 years ago if they wanted to go in that direction. Don't think they will at this point. |

It is hard to watch. Scuds and Gonch = Yikes! F'n terrible. Pouliot still scares the sh!t out of me playing defense. He keeps playing like this, he might not be starting the season in the NHL. - madmike71
Pouliot does look pretty horrible tonight. |

Yeah and that's why they will always be a 4-10 team in the East. They keep shuffling out all these fossils like Datsyuk and Franzen and they get injured every other game and it messes up their lineup for 6-8 weeks. With all they do right with their management that is a huge mistake on their parts. |

Murray keeps getting let down. That 4th goal was pretty flukey though. It hi like 10 things before it went in. Gonchar wide open, perfectly set up and he hits the post. And I am really starting to doubt Plotnikov is anything special at all. He's just out there skating around, not really part of anything, just kind of floating. Maybe it's his linemates but Sundquists are worse and he looks much better. Imagine having to watch this lineup play all year? That would be unbearable. |

Would love to see something/anything out of a couple players. Bennett, Sheary, DP?
Sundqvist had a couple of nice moments.....that's about it. Sure they worked a little harder in the second, but never really threatened. Gonchar should retire before the 3rd. |

If they go through the usual injury woes this is pretty close to what will be out there. |

thats why they are shuffling in Larkin, Tatar, Mrazek and others. they arent going to turn into edm/chi/pens and just tank a couple seasons to get a bunch of #1 picks. |

The only time the Penguins tanked was for Lemieux. |

Of all of the young forwards tonight, Sundqvist is the only one that looks like he can play in the NHL.
Pouliot looks good with all of that open ice. Not so much 5v5. |

Gonchar is done. Stop wasting everyone's time. He doesn't even move around in the offensive zone.
Pouliot looked uneven to me. I'd like to see more consistency especially against inferior competition.
Plotnikov looks like a 4th liner (on this team). Still a much improved addition for depth. |
