i'm actually not as cynical as my statement would appear in reality.

I think there are far worse polluters. They assassinated Diesel in the early 80's and this is just another attempt. I understand that VW cheated on their ECU code; however, I know there are far worse offenders out there and yet they are not being targeted.

The gov't doesn't like it when you avoid paying fuel taxes via 45mpg. They like it when you drive a hog and get 16mpg or less-- It's more fuel tax revenue for them. Any Gov't that states they want higher fuel standards is talking out of the side of their mouth... At least until everything is electric and then you get a tax bill for mileage every month ( since they can't get that revenue at the pump ). I swear... The EPA, Big Oil and Gov't are all in collusion here.

My two TDi's are the 3.0 with AdBlue and the new Golf Wagon EA288 with AdBlue.

I did a round trip from the Bay Area to Seattle on $105 in fuel. Please explain how a gas car that burns 3-4 times as much fuel pollutes less? Ever sit in gridlock where the gas car fumes are so bad you get sick?

Hilarious... I just got off the phone with VW customer care because my AdBlue heater went out in my Touareg. Great timing!
