Yes, keeping busy & staying out of trouble. It was a long, HOT summer and am looking forward to the fall & the start of the NHL season. Taking a week of in November to spend a few nights in Victoria and a bunch of nights in a secluded cabin mid Island.
How are you and the wife, the kids & the dogs? - Marwood
[Everything is good here.
The wife is on mat leave so I get a huge home cooked meal nightly, as apposed to throwing something together fast when we get home.
Kids are good. Daughter loves being a big sister. Baby son is a huge momma suck. Dogs are good.
Virtanen and McCann will be sent back to junior this year, and really there's nothing wrong with that as they're both 19 years old...don't rush them. Truthfully McCann is way more ready than Jake is.
Gaunce is good, which I wouldn't have said before I saw him this spring, he deserves a shot as he's put some development time in down at the AHL level....and it shows.
This year I think they've committed to Vey as a show me year. If he doesn't do something noteworthy this year he'll be moved early in the New Year, along with a vet.
I could see Gaunce, Grenier, Shinkaruk and Jensen all getting some games in this year. Although Shinkaruk could get traded in a package if his development stalls. - LeftCoaster
I'm a huge shink fan. I'd hate to see him moved unless the return is significant.

For me, it's not about giving up... it's about developing a player who is harder to play against. I'd rather see McCann or Cassels battling players along the boards over Vey being shoved on his ass with one hand while not even being a small challenge for the puck carrier who is handling with 1 hand.
I get it... his skill game will improve. I have no doubt in that. - boonerbuck
We need skill though, other than Boeser, who do we have that has the skill to score more than 15-20 goals a season in the system? I'd be loathe to give up both Vey and Shink without getting a very high 1st rounder back to replace that loss of skill.
Yes but mario only played 9.5 seasons. Some were only half seasons. He even retired in that time fought cancer and came back to challenge for scoring title. Gretzky had what 18-20 seasons. Huge difference. Mario could have doubled his numbers easily.

Wayne wasn't even close to Marios talent. - SMBDragon
It would have been really interesting to see Mario's production if he stayed healthy, but you have to at least admit Wayne had more luck.

Jake... maybe McCann... Horvatt with the right line mates... the Russian kid (forget name at the moment)..

What about Forsberg. He played in the dead puck era. And was a day and night better 2 way player then Mario and Wayne.

Oh and if you get flagged it just means Marwood likes you.

You can have sound environmental policies if you vote for these clowns....the economy and our dollar would crumble, but hey, the trees would be green and the water would be clean.

Does it have to be one of the other? The only reason the economy and environment are pitted against each other is because politicians have framed it that way. You can still get rich, have sound fiscal policy, and protect the environment. Or we can say fck it, suck the land dry and see how the economy looks then.

It's quite honestly the biggest (frank)-show I've ever seen. I voted either NDP or Liberal last time just to try and get Harper out or at least a minority, this time, I have no idea...Harper is an idiot and he's killing our West Coast fisheries, Liberals want to heap loads of debt on future generations and the NDP will most likely do the same while driving the economy into the ground.
