Gretzky over Lemieux anyday and I did not like either one of them. Orr would be the greatest to me because he was a warrior and arguably the best ever. That being said the greatest player of all time is Gretzky

Goalies need to go back to this size padding. Technology in equipment is so advanced that they dont need to be so "puffy". They are athleticaly better now as well, so whats the the need for this poop?

It's quite honestly the biggest (frank)-show I've ever seen. I voted either NDP or Liberal last time just to try and get Harper out or at least a minority, this time, I have no idea...Harper is an idiot and he's killing our West Coast fisheries, Liberals want to heap loads of debt on future generations and the NDP will most likely do the same while driving the economy into the ground.

It's so bad

1. Do you even have to ask? Why would anyone put a black hole of offense next to easily our best scorers?

2. Again, heck to the no. Higgins is a very good bottom 6 guy but to rely on him for anything even closely resembling goals, assists or points is just plain stupid.

McCann will be up soon enough, I have no doubt, but we already have so many centers without him. Not to mention that Gaunce has also looked really good, and would probably get brought up before him.

Give him a season in the AHL and hopefully by next year we'll have cleared out some room for him.

Mcann and Virt are down in juniors this year. Makes more sense to give them a look. Otherwise we lose than chance for 1 more year. By giving them that chance they get to figure out what they need to work on most to make the team next year.

A little bulk can be trimmed (rumors that pant and chest protector reductions may be implemented next season) but you certainly can't shrink it that much.

I'm a beer league goalie with decent equipment (pro level chest protector and leg pads). I played for 2 hours last night. I ended up bad bruises on my ribs, biceps, wrist, thigh, took a shot of my clavicle I was sure caused some decent damage and ended the game with a minor concussion.

The only way goalies would allow gear to be greatly reduced is if the players are forced to go back to the wood sticks. Now, almost any NHL'er has a decent wrist shot.

While heavy slap shots garner most of the attention, it's amazing how much a solid wrister can hurt - especially if you're not perfectly square.

McCann. But only the 9 game trial. Would prefer to see him a season in Utica.

It's too early to say either way, Virtanen looks right now like he needs another year in junior to figure things out and McCann needs to show that he can play against better competition. Let's wait until they make the cuts for Utica's training camp in France before we try and answer that question.

Apparently there will be some changes to the size of goalie pads for next season. They couldn't agree on time for this year.

Regardless of the change, it won't be nearly enough. Goalie pads should be strictly for protection, not to simply cover as much of the net as possible.
