even in the rookie games he wasnt dominating
i want him back in junior this year.. without fail
the up in the air part for me is what to do with him the following year
he's either a knight or a leaf.. no marlies due to the age thing. my guess.. the knights again.. not because thats what the leafs want.. but its better than rushing him which is the only other option. - Dozzer
I barely watched last night but it seemed like whenever I flicked over from the ball game that Timashov kid was doing something good. Potential ... |

Gardiner with half a season in the MB coaching era will be what I need.
Its so hard to get a clear idea of the Leafs D since RC had them dummied almost every game playing 40% hockey. - senstroll
I'm not going to point at RC for Gard's playing...but I'm hoping he has a great year.

Marincin and Hunwick over Polak imo
Polak as your 5/6/7/gtfo - senstroll
With all the PMDS, you need a Polak dude. And hes probably one of our better trade chips. Hes a useful dman. As for Gardiner, i think hes going to have a career year. |

It will never, ever happen, but I'd love to see the Leafs put him in the SEL for a year.
Shoot a nice big cannonball across the bow of the CHL.
But yeah, will never, ever happen. - Atomic Wedgie
I wouldn't be surprised to see some more CHL guy do this on their own (rules and eligibility aside). Sort of like Matthews is doing this season, gives them way more options once they are drafted. |

Sneak preview of my 2015-16 Leafs Predictions (go visit the thread!):
Gardiner and Kadri will be the biggest beneficiaries of the coaching change.
Yeah, I'll bet nobody else thought of that. I'm cutting edge here. |

Ironic with with all the hate, bur Fraser and Franson were our best pairing for a few months during the lockout season. I guess that says something. .. - Phenom
Franson can be a good D...just needs a speed demon/defensively minded partner and very defensively minded forwards |

Yeah, he and Fraser kind of complimented each other, but RC knew when to use them....and who not to put them up against. That made Phaneuf the scapegoat most nights. |

He's gone to Jokerit in the KHL this year.
Hmmmmm....
You know what wouldn't be bad? Put Marner on Jokerit in the KHL next year.
You get him playing in a league that probably has a higher skill level than the SEL, but you get the kid HQed in Helsinki, as opposed to another KHL team 2,800 km from the nearest flush toilet.
Just sayin'... |

he got creamed vs DET in game 5 and then missed half the season, came back and played 2 games before being injured again. That was all it took. being undersized, you need speed and skill , but you also need the IQ and ability to protect yourself. |

High ankle sprain killed him.
I really felt bad for the kid. Played his arse off, impressed with his hustle and speed, overcame huge odds to make the club.
Gets injured, window of opportunity slams shut. |

i dont know why people have a problem with that rule
if it didnt exist all the best players would be poached from the CHL early, lessening the QoC of the CHL, and ultimately lessening the quality of product they produce. |

i think marner has looked just fine, hes not mcdavid, but hes still a very special prospect. Forces a lot of turnovers, still trying to pass too much. He set up Soshnikov a lot last night, should have had a couple apples. Nylander though, right now looks friggin awesome. |

Timashov, Soshnikov, Nylander
Quite impressed with our Euro scouting - are those all Bergman picks? |
