The only thing that stick with me from last night is when Gardiner tried to skate the puck out of the d zone but skated it into two habs and almost turned over a 2v0
- TheMussel

I remember that. Looked like a sick deke, but he fluke it off by chance. That had goat written all over it.

Gardiner is a good player when it comes to just playing on instinct.

When he has to think about a play, that's when he runs into problems.

If he can get best practices in the dzone drilled into his head until it becomes instinct... he could be a reliable top-4 guy.

- Feeling Glucky?

he just needs to learn the game

surprised so soon.

Surprised about Leipsic actually. He looked alright in that first game. Dermott shone in the rookie tourney but I hardly noticed him last night.

Sorry to have to tell you this, Zazzie, but Dozzer wants to see you in his office.

Please bring your playbook.

Don't get where people are saying Marner was good last night, he was virtually invisible. The two best forwards were Holland and Nylander.

For me he already is a top 4 guy - easily. The Leafs need to be better for his skillset to pay off. There are very few d'men in the NHL who excel at both ends of the ice ...More often then not the high skill guys are liabilities in their own end.

The Leafs spend way to much time in their own end and that's always going to make those types look like poop. It'll be nice to see him and Reilly getting PP time and spending more time in the Ozone.

Still not sure what to make of Marincin yet. He's puzzling. Seems to have the size and mobility but is he being tentative? Nervous or trying too hard, getting himself out of position?
