Not sure what we've done lately to deserve such hate...

Why would think you need to actually *do* something to be hated?

Nylander looks like he's ready. At least, he did last night.

That said, you could argue that McCarron looks ready too... which kinda reminds me that, it's only preseason.

- Pecafan Fan

true enough, but McCarron is your Gauthier.

Did you notice Plekanec bringing the veteran presence to the game last night.

And by veteran presence I mean he was skating around like "Why the F am I even out here".

I feel sorry for some of the vets in pre-season.

Well that's my point. Some players can look great in a few preseason game and we think they're ready. And then when the season starts, they fizzle out real quick.

Those games are pathetic. Can't believe people pay the full price for that poop show.

I still say Nylander.

But Pecafan is right, it was pre-season and really weak lineups for both teams.

We'll see how Gardiner looks when its Pacioretty, Galchenyuk, Semin and Subban out there...

It is barely better than NFL pre-season. I think the only difference is that you get a chance to see your prospects who you may not see in the NHL for a couple years, and this is often the only chance people get to see them.

It makes it a little more interesting.

I would definitely bet on the team with the most young players in the pre-season. The veterans are only there to get a little skating in.

I know baseball is a long up and down season so this latest string of ineptitude by the Jays is probably no reason to panic.

What does concern me is that the Jays seem to be a prototypical "pile-on" team. They are great when they're already up by 5 runs, but when the game is tight they seem to struggle.

That, and of course the bullpen.

We could easily be in the wildcard instead of winning the division. Would it surprise anyone to see another Toronto team epicly collapse?

Yeah the bright spot last night was that the Leafs lineup was equally devoid of most of their regulars.

Kind of sad in a way. There were a lot of guys out there last night who are not likely to ever have much of an NHL career.

Baseball is like that..like you said.
But they are 21 games over .500 ... I really dont care how you get there.. winning every game 2-1 or 10-3

they are 12-6 against the Yankees.

If the Jays go 6-5 the Yankees have to go 10-2 to win the div outright

Exactly, who cares what players look like after a couple pre season games.
All players should be looking good at this point....specially the young ones.

The bullpen is getting tired. The kids have never played this much and players on other teams know their stuff.
Its bound to happen.
Jays are in tough in the playoffs....pitching outduels hitting all the time.
