Vey is a right winger - VANTEL
He did have some early season success on the pp with them...
I understand the comfort of playing on your natural side, but how can a team like Detroit play with only a couple players who shoot right and everyone else shoots left? Especially on defense. I thought I heard they only had one righty in the lineup for a stretch last season and they still managed to have an alright season... But it is like a huge factor here when a dman has to play on their wrong side...
I am not against trying different players with the Sedins. Have to find an alternative to Hansen. |

It will be fun to watch what system of rebuild works faster.
They are going full rebuild and going down to bare minimum with their roster. Also lots of cap space soon.
Canucks easing some prospects in under the guidance of Vets and teaching them the game. Also cp space will be decent next year.
Leafs will get higher draft picks and more of them, but it could be painful to watch. Could turn out to be another decade of missing the playoffs |

Hansen would be great if he could score.
Detroit haven t been great for almost a decade. They are decent but I seldom refer to them as example setters anymore. Sure they make the playoffs but they are not one of the elite anymore.
Vrbata still best option this year up to TDL |

Okay, not great, but a playoff team. But why is the whole right shooting d man or forward so important to us but a team like Detroit just goes about their business without it being much of a distraction or excuse?
For feck sake, Hansen scores on a breakaway maybe 20% of the time, that might be giving him too much. Don't know how many times Burrows whiffs either. But would still rather Burrows there over Hansen.
Stick Vrbata there and see what happens to start the season.

I think with maybe 15-20 points up in the air for 3-3 and shoot outs , we need to have some kids in the line up who grew up playing that way. |

It matters how they receive the pass . It is more of a natural release when they are playing the proper side. Quicker release |

Detroit is still great. Forced Tampa to game 7 last season and always a danger to win the series. All they were missing was a solid PP blueliner. Since Lidstrom left, that's been a weakness they haven't filled to any significant extent. Won't be able to replace Nick L, but at least get someone who can effectively QB.
Nux should've traded Edler to them and probably still could. |

I can see that, but the issue just seems to be so magnified by the media. Just so weird to not hear it as an excuse for Detroit, but is for us. however, at the end of last year, apparently it did help having Weber's right hand shot on the pp.
The Sedins are strange. If they can set up a new line mate they do, but after awhile, they start keeping the puck between them and then we see who has patience and plays well with them. |

Unbelieveable... Kane must have 'donated' a few 100 thou on the Buffalo police pension fund. It's almost as bad as how the police bungled the Winston rape allegations in Florida. |

This was my original lineup in mind, but I think the two goons would be better off split up. |

I am not sure how/why the NHL doesn't step in and tell Kane this needs to be resolved first before you play again |

I don't think he should be there.
But. the whole innocent until proven guilty and if it becomes sop to remove players from the lineup whenever something is alleged... it sounds like it can be abused at playoff time by a crazy fan of an opposing team. Have to really clarify what sort of allegations are suspension worthy.
Does Kane continue to get paid if suspended?
Some crazy monkey business going on there though. Anyone can be bought. |
