You noticed that huh? All of a sudden when he saw the opportunity, he moved his feet to get to the far post. - MJL
it was more a play here in the third where they were cycling in the left corner/half boards and he had the puck, lost it, and then instead of going hard at the guy with the puck he kind of just glided in his direction and put his hand out.
Like there isn't a lot of fire there. |

Yeah but too often people fall in love with guys who work really really hard, where it's easy to see how much energy they're expending but who never really have much to show for their efforts. And yes, we need some of these guys but we haven't exactly won a cup lately with a whole team of them. Maybe we need a guy who finds those holes and buries those pucks. As long as he's not a Daigle I can accept him gliding a little. - TheGreat28
Highly skilled all star players like Giroux and Voracek work their asses off and compete all over the ice. They can do that, but we should give a pass to a skilled player who doesn't? I don't see Hakstol accepting that. Again, it is pre season, so it remains to be seen if he elevates his compete level, once the regular season starts. Hopefully he does. |

That type of thing has been happening for two games.

Konecny looks great and all.

Holy Ghost! Gagne great play spreading the Rangers box wide open for that cross-crease set up. Top notch finish. |

Well, this is the only one I have seen.
I think he can score. and it appears he has more in the tank from that perspective than Vinny. So I will take that.
But I can't see the new Boss letting him play if he isn't willing to go for the puck when you don't already have it. |

Man Bodi looks good. I was really disappointed when we didn't go after him and the Rags signed him. Might have been interesting to have the Union teammates. |

Streit could have telegraphed that pass to Gagner just a little more.
A neon sign may have been less obvious. |

Now the passive-aggressive starts? There are zero doubts or concerns about Gagner's ability to make plays with the puck. There's more to the game, especially if you want to be a good team.

Medvedev looks good, very calm out there. Ghost looks good also. Overall really hard to tell how these younger guys will look against a real NHL team. But it was fun to watch. |

Ok, here is something you'll like. I'm not as crazy about Gagner in 3 on 3. There you absolutely can't glide.
And not a smart play by Schenn either on the to and penalty. |

Gagner is an offensive player, and 3 on 3 is wide open hockey. He's not a great skater but he has the puck skills for it. Shouldn't leave a forward last man back with the puck.
