-Medvedev looked good had a couple small gafs he was able to recover from
He's definitely a great player but I'm not ready to anoint him. I think him and mdz being paired is a great thing cause they both have potential to grow and be better than they are predicted to be.

-umberger did look better especially puck battling and defensively. He should have a third line job on lock.

-Gagner didn't do awful but if umberger and Schenn are locks for third line is a third line of Gagner Schenn Umberger in our future ? Yikes.

-of the rookies nobody looked nhl ready defensively. Most of them are trying to not screw up instead of trying to play their game.

-konecky looked like he could be an NHL contributor right now even though I admit it's verse b level talent. However I don't think he fits in the current lineup and I'd fear playing him on a line with umberger Gagner Vinny or Schenn to start his career.

-Laughton impressed me verse the islanders a squad so did porter. Schenn looked descent. It's a shame he's going to end up in Lehigh.

-the inability for rhe Brooklyn team to get anything going on pp did give me a slight concern. You had enough talent to make it work. It probably means our 2nd PP will suck again this year

-I may be the only one but I now kind of hate the vv AND white resignings. They among others are blocking spots for our young guys. Hopefully if a young guy wins the spot they'll waive them

-thank God hockey is back

Laughton and konecky would not have a slot. Not saying after 1 game konecky is the next patty party boy Kane but he's damn good and has more potential than career journey men 4th liners

Just got done watching the Allentown game. Here's some early thoughts

-Medvedev is a beast and is going to be our best all around dman this year. At 33 he skates like the wind and the hockey sense hakstol has mentioned with him is very apparent as his stick quickly gets into passing lanes on changes of possession. At no time did it appear he suffered from a misplay due to the "small ice"

-It is no joke about umberger getting his speed and strength back. He was doing all the work for his line. He is quicker, faster, stronger, and certainly nhl caliber

- it is a joke about vinny getting quicker/stronger. He is so cooked it's not even funny
-We are going to hate sam gagner. Such a weak player and poor skater, bad combo in today's nhl.
- konecny was awesome, speed, shiftiness, lots of skill, fun player. Bardreau Won every face off it seemed and is the definition of a waterbug
- provorov was fun to watch. The skill and grit are evident.
-raffl remains an excellent fit for the top line

Gotcha. Yeah he's got a sick shot was at the Brooklyn game last night but was inebriated enough by the end of the first period that preseason hockey became not that important to me . Did some exploring around the new arena etc.
