It is sad that this could be a good thing. But it could give a longer audition to someone who would have started in Utica. And I hope Horvat isn`t saddled with both Higgins and Hansen.
That was a fairly big lineup last night for the Canucks. Cracknell seemed okay, made some good plays, over handled the puck at times.
Gaunce looked good. Grenier is tall and a handful for some of the defenders.
I just wish our forward depth was matched by our d depth. |

Exhibition hockey is the poops, it doesn't really get good until mid November, that said, good to watch hockey again.

I've been in contact with Jeff Gillooley if a fracture or break is not confirmed by Canuck doctors. |

It was terrible to start. but got a bit better as the game went on... but yeah, it is exhibition. Some guys were just going for a skate.
I picture Vrbata, and many of the vets, dreading exhibition as you have a lot of meat heads running around, looking for a big hit to get noticed.
Just want to see Horvat progress as he is ready and not be held back.
Who was 21 last season? Was it Matthias? |

If Higgins and Vey are expendable on our roster based on being outperformed, with this current roster, what makes you think they are worth that much on the open market? - Codes1087
cuz the young guys are that good, and people overpay at the deadline for depth |

No he was 18 I think. Last guy to wear 21 was Zac Dalpe if I remember correctly? |

Yeah, until you get to near the final cuts, the vets don't actually try in the exhibition games. Why risk injury when fringe AHL/ECHL players are trying to be noticed and make a name for themselves. |

That's great, I'm looking for a venue that will seat a minimum of 1500 just in case you don't succeed, oh! and I'm starting to collect old tires. |

I honestly can't see a contender/playoff bound team paying a 2nd or 3rd for either of those guys in hopes that either of them will make a big enough difference for their club in the playoffs. I really don't. I know teams overpay, we have seen this before, but Higgins getting a 2nd... There is no way. |

Thought there might have been someone last season.
I also got Blair Jones and David Jones mixed up in my head.
Lots of bodies in camp and options for the bottom 6. |

It seems like a lot, but we have seen what Nonis and MG paid for rentals at the tdl. (we picked up vets that were about to retire in some cases...) |

Well then it's a real shame that neither of them are GMs somewhere. |

 need a dance partner.
It is the same questions and impressions with many trades, they got robbed, why would they do that? To address a need and push for the cup.
If you have excess skill and want/need grit, you pay for it. Sometimes over pay. Might be why Edmonton was tanking so long. Afraid to overpay a little for a need, but they finally got a gm that isn't afraid to make a deal. |

Was he released? I remember him in the playoffs but can't remember the last time I heard his name. |
