So what do people expect from Horvat in terms of production this season??

In my opinion 35-40 goals would be great.

It'll depend on his ice time and whether or not he gets PP time, but I think 30-50 points is reasonable for him based upon his production last year.

If he breaks 40 I would be ecstatic

Sophmore slumps are very common.
Nathan Mackinnon
Thomas Hertl
Tyler Myers
Jeff Skinner

Kevin Hayes I guarantee is going to have a sophmore slump.

I don't see him having a sophmore slump, sophmore slumps happen because the rookie starts believing his own press and relies on their talent and skill rather than hard work.

I guess he didn't have lights out point totals to begin with, so I guess he couldn't drop that much.

He plays a complete game, a lot of players who slump tend to be snipers and playmakers who aren't well rounded and have to take more responsibility defensively which they might not be ready for.

Those would be entertaining lines, Higgins traded or waivers, Hansen the 13th forward. With Bo I could defiantly see Vrbata back at 30 goals. And I think Sutter and Burrows would click as linemates. Sure Virtanen would be a rookie but sedins would be a good teacher

Bo has good passes, he needs to be with someone who can score, Higgins forsure isn't that guy, Hansen is alright at times but has speed

Makes sense. With improved TOI he should break 20 goals and maybe 40 pts. Will be a great year if he accomplishes that.

20 goals and 40 points. I would be surprised if Horvat didn't break that. The kid is unreal.

Good morning Gentlemen and our Wonderful Blogger

I was banned yesterday for a post I made Friday

We were discussing Josh Ho-Sang and I responded to Vantel's post that Ho-Sang may not want to play there (New York) my response was "why wouldn't a Jew want to play in NY unless he's already thinking of retirement and considering one of the Florida teams"

New York is the centre of Jewish culture in North America followed by Florida, so I think my post is not offensive in any way. I can't see any reason why this post got me banned and no one from this website can tell me why I was banned.

Now comes the kicker gents.........I am Jewish, well as Jewish as I can be while still enjoying bacon.

Today at sundown Yom Kippur begins, 25 hours of fasting and prayer. I don't celebrate any of the Jewish holidays or any Christian holidays, but today I have decided to remove myself from this website for those 25 hours. I wont be going to Synagogue or anything but I know I wont be here.

By the way the oldest Synagogue in Canada is here in Victoria.

Balance is important. Not allowing a losing culture to take hold is important, because it can be difficult to break free from that once it does. The last thing I want is to end up with a team a few years from now that has a bunch of young talent but no cohesion as a group.

that's exactly why the Flames, and the Nux after them, are tackling a rebuild the right way. you don't go the full "rebuild" route... i think eberle was quoted as saying he has to get used to not feeling like they're gonna lose, since that's all they've done for 6 years...

young players need to be around guys who win, which they'll know how to do once the older guys move down to lesser roles and the younger guys step up. I think it'll be beneficial to whoever the younger guys are that come up this season if the Nux hit 100 pts again...

I want to see the following to start the season, only if the young guy legitimately beats out a veteran. I think this is a lineup that can get 100pts this season...

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows
Baert-Sutter-Vrbata
Virtanen-Horvat-Hansen
Prust-McCann-Dorsett

Edler-Tanev
Hamhuis-Weber
Sbisa-Bartkowski

Corrado
Kenins/ Higgins/ Vey

if Higgins and Vey can be surpassed then i'd like to see them packaged at the deadline for a 2nd and a 3rd.... from some team that is flipping picks from teams out of the playoffs... that way we make the playoffs and get a shot at winning the lottery

If Higgins and Vey are expendable on our roster based on being outperformed, with this current roster, what makes you think they are worth that much on the open market?

At trade deadline I wouldn't be surprised Higgins getting a second, I just cant see a contender going after Vey

I thought I should pass this on to you all.

Whether you meant any harm or not, and it appears you did not, anything related to religion/race is immediately deleted and a short ban is handed out. I understand if you disagree with that formula, but that's the way they want it.

So don't step out of line, unless it's a goose step
