They'll likely pick them strategically.

TBH, I thought Drouin would have made more progress at this point. Not that I don't think he can and will be a good NHLer, but watching how good his hands were in junior I thought he'd be one of the young guys to go full time after a year max.

How hasn't he made progress? He had 32 pts in his first NHL season...not bad for how he was being used...he's also 20 years old. I could see 50 plus this season, and higher going forward....

I called Drouin a bust the day he got drafted based on a gut feeling. I'm not saying he's officially a bust at this point but he hasn't shown anything that warrants his high draft position yet.

Because why not? We're in a rebuild...and JVR is only going to have his trade value decrease from here on...He's going to have like 40 points this season, without Kessel.

I never said he was. Read again

My prediction the day he got drafted was that he was going to be a bust. by no means would I write him off as a bust at 20 years old

It took James Van Riemsdyk...a 2nd overall pick basically 5 seasons to break 40 points....which Drouin almost did in his first season.

Holy knee jerk. I didn't say his development progression, I meant how and where he is being used. He wasn't able to play his way past a lot of players on TB yet and I thought he'd be steady top 6 by now is all.
