sometimes with those guys, i think it's good to bring them up for 15-20 games at some point. they sink or swim but it's a win-win because even if they sink, you get a good read on where they are in their development and which parts of their game are NHL level and which aren't.

The nice thing with brown is there hasn't been crazy expectations for him. He wasnt labeled a blue chip prospect, but has got to play in shadows a bit. He just keeps getting better and better and seems like has been able to go about his business without to much press.

If a kid makes it unexpectedly, I'd rather see Brown than Nylander or Kapanen. They would benefit from having the Marlies on their back for a season.
Marlies were dead last until Nylander joined and took them to the playoffs. |
