Kenins playing with the twins this morning - LeftCoaster
I like it... canucks need a player who has some speed and who can get in on the forecheck!
I think Virtanen will take that spot at some point this season..... brings everything that you would want for the Sedins.... big, fast, right handed, decent hands, big shot

Hockey IQ? I'm not saying that Virtanen doesn't have it, but that it's probably the most important quality for playing with the Sedins.

Bouser has the best skill set of anybody in our system to play with the twins.

I'm not saying I agree with the early camp lines but guys like Virtanen and JMac should have to earn opportunity, not have it handed to them. - Bieksa#3
They will, I think Virtanen is already better offensively than Higgins, not defensively but that you can hide and live with...to a certain degree.

He thrives off of the rush and is weak in the cycle and his offensive positioning is also still not good. I'd rather see him with Vey or Horvat.

That's a pretty bold statement, I don't see how you could possibly support it either.
He might, and even then I wouldn't be confident, have a better shot than him at this point but otherwise I think that is a huge stretch.

It's only bold because you bolded it
Thinking of goal scoring only, should have expanded on my view, and no I don't think it's a stretch to say Virtanen could score 10 or twelve goals given the minutes and situations Higgins currently gets.

Found a interesting/ridiculous article on clutch scoring which is headlined ironically by both Sutter and Bonino at opposite ends of the spectrum.
I'm not a believer in "clutch" and think that this is prime example of stats being used to portray a useless scenario.
Anyways using high danger scoring chances and taking in account when a goal was scored in down by 1, up by 1 and tied situations, this Dallas fan came up with a "clutch" stat from last season. As well they limited it to players who had played 750+ min.
Bonino was ranked as the most clutch player above Bergeron, Perry, Ryan and Horcoff.
Sutter was ranked the 2nd worst behind Panik and right after JVR, Cole and Williams.

Higgins other than last year has been closer to a 20 goal scorer since joining Vancouver. 18 in 71 games, 10 in 41 games, 17 in 78 games and 12 in 71 games.
To say that Virtanen could score 10-12 at this point in his career is hopeful, to say that he will score more than Higgins who averages 18 I think is unrealistic.
6 Rookies scored 17 or more last year and the youngest was Forsberg at 21.
I think Jake has the potential to be a 20 goal scorer but not for a few years.
Horvat and Vey have much better offensive games at this point and I would hesitant penciling them in for more goals than Higgins at this point.

Realistically, for me, I only see Dallas and Colorado being better than they were last year in the West.
In the Pacific Division:
LA didn't do anything to get better, although they'll still play that heavy game and they're always difficult to play against.
San Jose really didn't do anything to get better, did they?
Anaheim still very good, but are they better?
Calgary should be the same or worse if they don't improve their fancy stats.
The Oilers were terrible so getting better doesn't really scare anyone, does it?
Arizona - need I say more? We should wipe the floor with them every game! - LeftCoaster
Calgary got a lot better IMO. Last year was an anomaly for them though with respect to how well they did with their roster. Their D definitely got better with Hamilton and the return of Giordano.
