Kubiak was a bad hire. - Nucker101
Apparently Manning has no feeling in his fingers since before his surgery(finger tips that is) |

I mean football is really only entertaining when the quarterbacks are actually good.
But Manning is venturing into bad quarterback territory.
His throws are so easy to pick.

Night and day after that surgery, just zero strength on his throws. |

Yeah, I read about that. Honestly, his arm strength seems the same it was last year and even the year before(which was not very good) but the touch on his throws seems off. Plus he looks very uncomfortable in this offense. |

Falcons defense impressed me, I knew they had offense but that defense looked damn good before the Eagles started to wear them down.
STL is legit now that they have Foles and especially when Gurley is back as well to go along with that defense. Aaron Donald is a freak. |

I've never really found his arm to be big. His touch as you say and ability to read the d is his greatest assets. |

Their D is amazing. That front four may be the best I've ever seen. But if that was a good offense playing seatle on Sunday, they would have scored 50. There was at least a dozen times there was no defender within 20 yards of a driver. When does that happen ever let alone the seahawks. They miss Maxwell and Chancellor bad. Proof a secondary isonly as good as his weakest members. Even Sherman looked weak when he was getting help
BTW Foles sucks. 2 terrible fumbles.
If Bradford of the 2nd half is the real philly offense.....look out |

Benning said he thinks there are 3 kids who have a shot at a spot. Virt, McCann and Cassels.
I think McCann will be the 4th line center ala horvat - Bieksa#3
When did he say that? I thought he had said recently that he thought Grenier had a chance as well.
I know you're McCann's fan on here and iirc you said you have seen him live a bunch. Did you you think he looked injured still during the youngstars tourney?
I still really like his long term potential but I would be surprised if he was ready, again haven't had a chance to see him play much.
I think clearly Virtanen is physically ready but unless you are going to swap him with one of Dorsett/Prust, I can't see him being able to replace what the other vets do in the line up at either end of the ice. Considering both those guys can PK as well, that would even be a stretch.
All of this considering that the team is trying to be a 100 point team again this year. |

McCann is way better to way then Virtanen. And we know Willie and his d.
I think he was top 3_in defensive zone starts in ohl. Had a broken hand and mono and still over a point per. I thought he looked nervous in the first game but was fine after that.

Great write up Carol!!!
You are the only reason I venture into Hockeybuzz any more. Great insight and without all the blatant homerism. You see and write things realistically and without prejudice, we are lucky to have you!

I hate to break it to you, but we are no longer living in the stone age, where hunting was necessary to survive (which as I've noted, I don't have a problem with - if you are hunting to provide food for you and your family etc). But you are right, it comes down to the fact that you either get a thrill from killing something or you don't, and I'm firmly in the latter group.
Also, you will note I never said hunting was easy - and you are right, in that I don't know much of the minutiea - my underlying perspective, however, is that the animals have no chance against man and his weapons/resources.
Lastly, it's a fallacy (at best) to suggest that animals are 'dumb and useless'. But that is another topic and for a different forum than a hockey site.
P.S. chicks also dig the renaissance man/sensitive type and like a man who doesn't have to kill things in order to prove himself and be comfortable as a human being - Zogg
If the animals have no chance against man, why does man have such a hard time harvesting an animal? It's way more complicated than you could imagine.
You are just flat out wrong about this. It's just a baseless assumption. Don't worry, most people base there opinion on this topic the same way as you. It's just the way it is. Modern man has become so disconnected from his past and the media and entertainment industry fills in the void. Even the hunting shows misrepresent what it's like for the typical hunter out in the wild.

I kinda think it looks like this..
sedin sedin burrows
baertshi horvat vrbata
higgins sutter hansen
prust vey dorsett
Kenins
If i had it my way gaunce would take over for Vey... And unload Vey for anything - mauryballstein
Interesting.
JV might find his way into the lineup.
Make or break training camp for Vey. Hope he has a good one, even if he isn't a good fit for the 4th line, might make moving him easier... |

I agree, but take a look at Sutter's first assist numbers. He makes his wingers worse. - Nucker101
Maybe Sutter has never played with guys who can put the puck in the net? Maybe its the wingers who are making Sutter worse?
I really have no idea, just being a d!ck.

I wish he could play in the ahl. I really like his game. Its just a bad time to trade vrbata, higgins, hansen or burrows as we would get a crap return. Next season vrbata will be gone and virtanen and/or grenier would slot in. As grenier would be waiver eligible so they wont let him walk for nothing much the way baertchi will be on the team for sure and how vey made the team last year. |

My point was to illustrate how franked animals are, it is sea otter week after all. I fish, hunt and own a small farm, I dropped 35 chickens of to be killed this morning and am getting a cow done next week. Hunting is way more difficult and gives you a greater respect for what you eat.
I'll bet if you had to kill something, skin and gut it you would be less likely to throw it out after you had ate half of it. Point is to many people look down on those who still hunt their own meat while thinking nothing of having a box of ground beef at Costco knowingly blind to the fact that what they where eating was raised in an inhuman fashion but not caring because it was 10 cents a pound cheaper.
All people who have and continue to eat meat should have to help hint and slaughter an animal, you'd respect it more. |

I agree with all of this, but in fairness the whole conversation started over a bear hunt, where the animal was never intended to be consumed. It was just killing for the thrill of it and the board seems pretty unanimous in condemming it. Not to put words in anyone's mouth.
