Bang on.
- Deeps27

Yup. BB/DN gave us guys like Biggs, Ross and the goat with firsts and seconds. Already Bracco, Dermott and others picked lower have impressed more in one rookie camp.

You're always so positive. I love it.
- TheMussel

Obviously management didn't see any of those guys in the future plans.

Thats what it comes down to; Grabner by far has the most worth.

well just because they were washed up Canucks.. or considered washed up... doesn't mean they were now did it?
I was pretty happy with Mogilny, Santorelli, Raymond and Booth(injuries aside).

How'd Sundin and Wellwood work out for you guys?

- BorjeFan4Ever

Wellwood was great, loved him on the team. Sundin scored a pretty amazing shoot out goal in his game back at the ACC. That moment there made it all worthwhile.

he more than likely plays like crap, gets injured walks at the end of the year...and the leafs get nothing for the 5 players they sent back. great move.

How is it short sighted?

It's recycling what we have in the hopes of stockpiling lower caliber draft picks. You've yet to disagree with that.

What is the long term vision behind opening the space for PTO's, because if I'm not wrong.. You're arguing that to be the benefit of this move.

Did I miss something? When did PTO's turn into monster deadline hauls? Franson, Winnik, santorelli.. All were signed to contracts and didnt need PTO's to land on a team. Is there an example of a team using PTO's to fetch a better return than a couple prospects already drafted in the 2nd round?

As far as I can see, opening up space to sign PTO's isn't some incredible long term plan..

Mason Raymond? He wasnt traded but should have been. But the Leafs were good that year

You never know.

If you would have told me that Franson would have de facto netted a 1st, I would have said the same.

Just saying, management must not have seen them in future plans as they have better prospects in mind...it was like a locker cleanout before the season begins.

brought in the talent that may help w rebuild or return at deadline.

Lucas this had nothing to do with it, one or two have not even played games for the Marlies. This was a contract number problem, through and through.

Finn was behind Percy, Harrington, Brennan, Granberg, Loov, Valiev and even Nilsson on the Marlies depth chart and that's not including the guys who are currently playing for the leafs or guys like Dermott in junior who will make it long before him. Finn was never going to play for the Leafs.

I am leaning this way, cause why else do it? Maybe they have another trade in the works and needed to clear some dressing room stalls.
