Absolutely, because at the end of the year, it will be very easy for all of us to evaluate each other's work, and make objective judgements.

Leafman will graciously concede that Dion Phaneuf was well worth his salary.

Dozzer will admit that the Leafs would have been better off keeping Kessel.

Atomic Wedgie will finally realize that Komarov is good value at $3 million a year.

Unholy Goalie will realize that Robby Earl wouldn't have helped the power play.

- Atomic Wedgie

This will be interesting.. Any side bets on the go ?

Remember, he was actually the best player available in the draft, but racism took that first overall selection from him!
- AdamFrench

speaking of racism who owns the isles... one can argue he was only drafted first round because of racism

No. Ho-Sang is an elite talent with an ego the size of Dion's forehead. A team bursting with talent like the Islanders can afford to gamble on a nutback. They did that with Kirill Kabanov too, though admittedly in the 3rd.

I am serious: I sincerely hope the "regular guests" in the Leafs forum participate.

A few reasons:

- they bring a different perspective. No blue-coloured glasses. They may also bring an unfair negativity, though: it will be interesting to see how accurate they are (in any other year, I think they would me more accurate than a Leafs fan - but this year, I think maybe the Leafs fans will be making more negative predictions).

- I think everyone needs to put their money where their mouths are. If I say Gardiner wins the Norris Trophy this year, I'm happy to get laughed at by others who have also put their "geeenyuss hockey reputation" on the line, but it's not really fair to just snipe from the sidelines without any skin in the game. Wow, a lot of mixed metaphors in there.

- The more the merrier. It will be more fun.

Did you see this?

@StapeNewsday
Joshua Ho-Sang was late for the first day of #Isles training camp. He's been sent back to Niagara of the OHL. Camp over for him.

Didn't they have another high pick quit hockey too.

Kabanov.

Brought him up in the Habs thread earlier. They seem to like to take a chance on "different personalities".

Sure as long as we don't get people quoting posts, they can discuss in these threads and keep that one clean and organized.

That's the one. Its always a gamble with a pick but quit hockey is a new one right after getting drafted.

Yeah, I think the best way for this to work is to completely lock down the prediction thread when the season starts.

Any way to get their predictor hyperlinked to their user name?

It's going to get really fun when the 18-wheeler goes off the cliff in February, and people start re-quoting predictions of others out of spite.

"Gardiner sucks - and you supported him! It's all your fault!"

By the way, Kirill Kabanov is attending Rangers' camp on a PTO.

Once it is in lockdown they can't quote on threre but it can't stop them from copy and paste to another thread.
