There are plenty more to give away at a chance to pick up more PTO's and waiver claims.
More 6th and 7th rounders! - LeafMan
Dude the prospects we gave up were terrible. They won't sniff the NHL. Good trade. |

You have to stop posting this stuff. Nobody will think you know anything about hockey.. Just sayin - bixll
That's what makes it so hilarious.
You read your predictions at the end of the year, scratch your head, and say to yourself, "what the hell was I thinking?"
You can just tell my heart told me to write that about Komisarek - no way my head could have ever thought that.
No way.
Ever. |

The Devils signed Tlusty for 800,000? Quite the bargain, why would the Leafs not try to sign the guy to that type of contract? |

Francois Beauchemin "A" Terrible last year. I hope he has a good first half, so we can trade him.
Jeff Finger See you on the Marlies, Jeffie. And don't believe anyone who says it's only his salary that makes him a target for ire - he was lower on the depth chart last year than Exelby, who doesn't have a job in the NHL this year. You figure it out.
Carl Gunnarsson Let's hope he doesn't have a sophmore jinx this year. Good, albeit unspectacular player. Too bad he will only get 5-6 minutes.
Tomas Kaberle "A" I'd love to know what Wilson was thinking by stripping him of the A. It's like they want to completely reduce this guy to rubble. Look for him to have a big year - points-wise - and leave the Leafs at the end of the year for nothing.
Mike Komisarek "A" Will be better than last year, but still not terrific. He's better than average, but no superstar.
Matt Lashoff Don't care.
Brett Lebda Don't care.
Dion Phaneuf "C" The wild card. Will be beaten to the outside once a game. I'm hoping he grows into new role - I like his arrogance. But needs to play better. And I like him as captain - a role Sundin was never, ever suited for.
Danny Richmond Who?
Luke Schenn Will be better than last year. Was actually pretty good for the second half of last season. But I wouldn't be opposed to trading him for a good young centre.

Soooooooo, not quite so good with the defensive predictions.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -
Jean-Sebastien Giguere Above average. Not a superstar. It's his job to hold the fort until the Monster is ready to assume starting goalie. Won't be a Leaf next year.
Jonas Gustavsson Won't be as scrambly this year. I'm optimistic.
James Reimer I'm guessing they will trade him.
Jussi Rynnas Marlies. Nothing more.

Wouldn't exactly call these bold predictions. I thought you wanted us to have some fun with these.

I'm curious what you wrote about Petr Svoboda 15 years ago. - LeafMan
I'll have to check the tapes, but I'm sure it was something clever like:
Petr Svoboda: I'd rather have the older, broken down, for God's sakes just retire Petr Svaboda on Tampa Bay than this stiff. |

and we can't hoard all the draft picks as well that we are getting back. It's unfair to the rest of the league. |

Well I guess, what I'm saying is...I would have rather signed Tlusty at 800,000 than have given Setoguchi a PTO which is going to result in a pretty similar contract if he makes the team. |

at 27 he's plateaued. that's closer to old than young in the NHL. |
