So what's the over/under on points for Parenteau and Grabner? Who gets more minutes/PP time?

I for one actually don't think that should asterisk anything. I know a lot of player played way above their heads and what not, but all teams still had the exact same opportunities and played the same amount of games.

I don't remember exactly where the Leafs were sitting at the 48 games mark last season and the one before. But I'm willing to bet they weren't in the bottom 3 teams.

Think about it....what is the difference between this team and the one that made it to the playoffs? If anything, outside of losing Phil Kessel...every other player is either an improvement, has improved, or has room for improvement, or the same. Not to mention, we have a different coach...a better one. As for Kessel, a combination of Parenteau, Boyes, and Grabner will make up for the lost offense. If Kadri turns into a ppg player, and Lupul stays healthy...the offense will be better than it was before.

can you imagine the poop storm if Phaneuf got benched? I am not saying this will happen, just that guys with NMC and guarenteed contracts have the ability to just give up and collect the cheques...even if they get benched what's it to them? They still get the money no matter what, even if they are bought out.

the only thing keeping them in line is reputation/pride/competiviness, and a guy like phaneuf would likely never just give up, but with the money these guys are guaranteed, it would be pretty easy to get out of dodge and live a comfy life in a nice warm part of the world where no one really knows what the NHL is.
