Gotta disagree considering the moves made with Nashvilles first rd pick.
- markmark

Thats because Hunter knew he could get the guys he wanted later, so instead of 1 guy they liked, they got 2 they liked.

This was a very deep draft year; some guys slid into the second round who were not supposed to.

Thanks to Boston and their 3 picks in a row; only 1 I figured was a sure shot in the first round.

Plus are below Marner, Nylander and Goats, and Percy, Harrington, Valiev and Dermott respectively on the depth chart.

And don't anybody give me this weak "Marner and Nylander are wingers" bullpoop (Nylander is over 190lbs now, is that big enough for a centre...?)

- lumlums

Don't forget Kapanen...

EDIT: You were talking centers....my bad. LoL

What's up Lums? Long time no talk....how goes it in Cali?

I like Dermott but he is same as Finn. People are putting recent picks ahead of players that were in junior and had better numbers.

I'm a little curious why Finn couldn't stay in the OHL instead of playing in the ECHL

I'm thinkin the Leafs were worried they ruined him or perhaps there's more to Finn's recent injuries than what is publicly known

I agree that this deal is not the same as the deadline deals.....I also understand the sentiment that this is what Leaf brass has always done, which explains the skepticism.

The thing is, this deal is not like others of the past because the potential of the kids dealt yesterday is nowhere near the potential of the youngsters and 1st round picks that previous regimes have dealt away for quick fix veterans. Plus, I just instinctively have faith this regime knows what it's doing and will stick to their plan.

I respect your opinion and The thrill's, I think what has really pissed me off is that what they did yesterday was a complete contradiction to what they have been preaching since the end of last year, how can you trust this group now?

Because it was an 8 game conditioning stint.

I am all for the trade but I agree with this - I was not thrilled when the Leafs hired Lou Lamouriello

I don't think he could have been an overager in the OHL.

Adam explained it - didn't realize it was a conditioning stint, I thought he couldn't crack the AHL roster

If it was a matter of them believing he was as good/better than the subsequent 10 players picked before him then that's true it's wasn't quantity over quality. (To be clear I didn't hate that trade at all)

Still on my Galaxy S3. Love it.

Problem with those phones is the battery, though. It just doesn't last.

Panik is an interesting one. A lot of former teammates rave about his talent and he'll show flashes at times but he never really seems to wow you in a whole game.

I mean for sure there's no way they sign all four guys to PTOs - right? I think out of Boyes, Setoguchi, Glencross & Fraser, only Boyes or Glencross earn a spot on this team.

Easily. They never once said, 'We will not trade away any of our young players or prospects in our system.' They said they have a plan to build a winning team the right way.

I never had high hopes for Finn.
Just like Dermott..My expectations are very low.. late 1sts and on are just chances at something good.

At the moment i trust Hunter when it comes to drafting, Dubas developing, shanny with the Plan .. I dont have enough info to shout it all down.

that could change..but I have no reason to complain yet

I think two, they have 45 contracts, that will give them three to play with throughout the year.

I think the thing that all of those 30 goal scorers have in common, is that they only did it once, and have been cursing on that the rest of their careers.

I may be wrong.

- bixll

Wasn't Kulemin a 30 goal scorer as well. Oh wait, he isn't on this team.

It sounds like they were targeting Dermott at 24 anyways...if they were..they made some great moves
- senstroll

One will always need to associate Dermott and Bracco when discussing that 24th pick.

I'll take those two over whoever actually went at 24
