Good to hear.
JVR Stamkos Nylander - Byfuglien Ate Me
He's just a Molson rep.......He knows not. |

some of the comments on the tsn fb page are just ridonk
personally, I hate to see gibson go the most. He had a really steady year last year. Reimer is probably gonna get traded at some point, woulda been nice to see him get battle tested at the NHL level.

Can't see that, if they are trying for the playoffs they won't trade the 1A.
But I agree about Gibson. |

He is a pending UFA. If the leafs are not IN a playoff spot Reimer is as good as gone.

Agree with that, but it's Reimer that's going to have them in that spot. |

Leafs won't be anywhere near playoffs, can't see much of a market for Reimer unless he has so good starts (Not likely with this brutal team) |

I'm not gonna get into a reimer/bernier debate, but I doubt they are anywhere near a playoff spot. Babcock will have them playing better, but look at the roster |

After studying the analytic s of this trade I have to admit the vision brought forward may have a concern where he is involved but, to the point we are free |

It will be interesting to see how this team shapes up, that's for sure.
A million unknowns at this point. |

I'm happy to just endure the season if we can get a pile of picks for our pending UFA's
and draft high again.

There will be structure and it's almost the same team that was pretty close to first half way through last year.
I can't see them being as bad as everybody predicts. |

It'll be interesting to see how this roster does, you hope you at least see hard work and an effective system. But this roster is four star players short of being good, they're going to get mangled by a bunch of teams. Wait till they sell at the deadline, that'll be tankeriffic.

Kapenen, Harrington, first is pennies in the dollar
Verhege, Gibson, Finn, Beck Nielson is a super awsome mega prospect package

Retained salary And we included a pick as well.
His point misses the mark terribly. |

I always liked Finn and am not sure he got a fair shake here. However from day one I always wondered if he was fast enough for the NHL. Kind of wondered if he would be like a Drake Berehowsky. I would guess none of those players fit the mold of players that management wanted in their system |

again those are big assumptions, it's possible non of them pan out and the Leafs get nothing at the trade deadline.
also other GM's will start to catch on...guys get more ice time in T.O. and there numbers go up by virtue of averages. Then when obtained to add the precious depth contenders are seeking, the players regress to crap once their ice time is reduced. Look at Santorelli, Winnik and Franson last year...what impact did they have on the contenders that obtained them...nothing. If I was a GM for the other teams I would stay clear of any of the trade offers from the Leafs at the deadline. Especially these 1 year reclamation projects/illusions. - vermie22
Unfortunately have to agree. The only hope being that a) some teams are desperate enough to fall for it. B) the players actually become good enough that A). |

If guys are playing good, there will always be teams looking to buy at the deadline. It's not like former Leafs haven't gone on to do well on other teams. Ideally Babcock et al really do help a few guys' careers and get them going, that way we can flip them for some value. Hopefully that's part of what we're paying Babcock for, is to max out players, both the trade bait and the keepers. |

He put up decent numbers in the ohl
What's the point in trading him away if he didn't even get a shot here |

I remember when he was drafted. I don't follow the picks like some of these guys on here. Some seem to know everything there is to know about the draft picks. But I remember a lot saying he was a gonna be a great pick for a shut down D man. Now I'm reading he's not gonna be anything so why not trade him? (frank)ing Leaf fans. |
