Flip or not - we have to ice a team and not ruin the rookies we have currently playing in the AHL. If anything this trade reinforces this sentiment.
- A_Tree

Use guys like lievo then. At some point you have to insert yiuth and give them a chance. If anything this trade contradicts rebuilding.

In the Leafs' scouting staff's defence, you've had a hulluva lot more high picks.

It's hard to draft quality buys when your 1st pick is in the 3rd round, year after year.

For picks they'll use to draft more prospects who won't make the NHL.

Full circle.

- robin_steele264

Yes... ...I guess they could than flip the prospects for NHL player who they can than trade for picks at the deadline..

Nah.

I don't like trading Finn, cause I still think he's going to be good, but the rest weren't going to make this team in the next year or 2 anyway, if ever.
Add to that that Leafs will me making a poop ton of picks in the next draft, and just made a poop ton in the last draft, they need to clear out room in the depth charts for more players coming in.

I would rather have kept 1 of Finn or Nilsson, but otherwise I'm fine with it.

The players given up couldn't help the Leafs with Babcock's playoff push this year...Grabner will help with that...

The Rebuild is over..

Next trade will involve the leafs trading draft picks..

Since 2008: Eberle (22nd), Klefbom (17th), Petry (2nd round, now top 4 in Mtl)...

The oil are bad at drafting, but not "Leafs bad"

Honestly, we don't have a lot of depth in prospects at D so giving one away is always a concern. However, think of that in reverse. We don't have a lot of depth at D at Finn couldn't crack the marlies lineup, and barely put up points with the solar bears.
Junior success, couldn't translate that into pro.

For those talking about Battlefront earlier. Some good news:

"The beta will be available on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One sometime in early October and it will be open to everyone regardless of pre-order status."

He's had 1 season of pro and was injured early, and was low in the depth chart because they had 4 prospects and 2 vets on the Marlies. just drafted a couple more.
again, not crying about it, but he's the only 1 I'm worried will actual turn out.

It's a pretty good fight for pooptiest drafters...though sadly the Devils probably have that title.
