Still loving that trade. Leafs need to move him while his value is sky high. - Not_Stee
I sure hope so.

Which isn't saying much about either player.
JVR can be quite good... But man did he ever float last season. |

Fair point, and he may very well have a catastrophic year.
My point is that nobody knows, but people love to poop all over every decision made by management no matter what it is - TheThrill
I am usually the opposite, and wear blue googles and eveything else, but I just can't back trading away known assets for the potential of nothing.
If they end up signing young prospects they feel have a higher ceiling, then okay.
If they end up signing Boyes, Glencross or Setoguchi, hoping they have great years and hoping to flip them, then I will female dog and complain until I see the fruits of that endeavor.

Save me some back reading - are people upset about losing Finn the most? Nillson? - 1979AD
Finn seems to be the big concern.
There's also a weird vibe about giving up on too many prospects.
Others are concerned that this means we are signing every guy invited to camp on a PTO.
And apparently every guy on the roster except Rielly is going to be traded at the deadline for mid-round picks.
You are all caught up now. |

Be hilarious when the Leafs bring him back on a PTO too once the Flyers are rid of him. |

I'm quite sure that 75% of that team is guilty of that. |

I by no means think it's a catastrophic bad trade. I just don't like it. |

I don't mind this. All the prospects were weak, outside Finn -- who they've been looking at for a while now. Clearly they didn't feel like he was rising along a steep enough curve.
This clears contracts so they can sign some of these PTO players -- EACH of which will be traded at the deadline for picks. As will Grabner. Clearly they're just clearing the shelves for restocking.
No reason to get upset. None of these guys were going to be anything but supporting players. - jnwood2517

I really liked the last one. With new gen consoles this one should be pretty sweet. Have they mentioned anything yet about playing as the "heroes"? (Like where you get to become a jedi) |

In the offchance Babcock manages to get all the PTOs to overperform and the Leafs squeak in, I'm dying to see the fans lose their heads. |

Yea Finn isn't the problem, for me it's mostly Verhaege... Though his numbers didn't really improve this last year of junior, which is a bit of a red flag in itself.
Nilsson had the makings of a tough shutdown defender.
If Grabner lights it up this season, and can be traded for a Winnik-like return, I'm good with it. |
