Burke did the same

Shanahan gets fired new guy does the same

Never ending circle jerk

meh.

I don't think so. We'll see though.

EDIT: You're right, but I truely believe that they can't afford to continue down that road again. IMHO.

Hey we still have some more prospects to give up to allow more PTO's to make it, Brown, Johnson, Leivo, Hyman and Leipsic, we can then the Leafs might have chance to flip those PTO's for late rounders!

- LeafMan

Its hurtful that you categorize those guys with Finn, Nilsson and Verhaeghe.

Basically the Leafs have only concentrated on prospects for about the last 12 months. If you're not in the Leafs top 10 prospects, you don't hockey very well

YES

allows the leafs to sign a couple PTOs.. they play well.. they get flipped for picks (notice the leafs didnt trade any of those), flip the one year guys who played their asses off all season to re-prove themselves for more picks, which allows dubais and hunter to restock using their criteria

these guys are burke and nonis picks.. you cant possibly think that the new management group likes every one of them?

and there is nobody they moved who is a shoe in for the NHL.. and they were all down the depth chart for leafs prospects anyways.

solid move.

- Dozzer

I personally think this is a long long long shot. (In terms of picks 3rd rd or earlier)

Nice, can't wait - I'll get wrecked and cheer like a mofo until they are mathematically out of the playoffs, so probably Nov 1.

Rebuilding with one of the oldest roasters, that is the way to do it

We had one of the youngest when we weren't rebuilding. That worked well.

can you guarantee grabner or any of the possible PTO guys will be equate to draft picks that are better than the ones they gave up? my bet is on the very real possibility they end with less prospects and they will have less potential.
- vermie22

a former 2nd, 3rd and 4th, that are in all likelihood less valuable than future 2nd, 3rd, and 4ths though

Are we really worried that the Leafs may give up on a 22 year old guy (5th round draft pick) who hasn't played a game of pro hockey, and was given away by the Florida Panthers for Greg McKegg?

Really?

Lu, most places have Fin and Verhaegh 18-22.

Also, Kadri, Garndiner and Reilly are still considered prospects.

That is why I said give him away plus the others to sign more PTO's. The more chances for late round picks to replace the prospects the better it seems with Hunter.

why does no one see the fact that the leafs are not guaranteed any future draft picks after this is all said and done?

it's like a foregone conclusion all these mid level and last chance guys are going to have career years and yield great returns. I think this is highly unlikely.

The 5 contract spaces they opened could bring back 5

Its obvious shanny and the crew want their own prospects to draft and develop.

This is a much longer term move than most want to think about

- senstroll

Could be but draft and prospects is sometimes or always a crapshoot

The prospects we gave up had no potential. Id rather have one good prospects than five poopty ones
