Absolutely. But better than Reimer. Called me old fashioned, but I prefer the better player when given an option of two. I find that's the way a team improves. I live by a simple code as a GM. Take the better player
- walshyleafsfan

Problem is, Bernier is only marginally "better" than Reimer.

Neither of them is the solution.

That said, I think Bernier would be a better backup, but that's my opinion.

Again, a simple code. Always take the BETTER player

I'm baffled by the Reimer camp vs. Bernier camp feud this morning.

Quite frankly, neither of them has shown enough to warrant loyalty from Leafs Nation.

- Atomic Wedgie

Exactly. I couldn't give a rats ass about either of them.

They were bound to falter a bit with one of their best on defense and one of their best on offense both out. They'll jockey between 1-3 games ahead down the stretch.

The collapse is coming, the offence cannot keep up that pace, it will dry up and the loses will come.
- LeafMan

So they can keep it up for 140 games...then it dries up?

even if they go .500, all will be fine

I'm not a fan of either.

I was convinced the Leafs were gonna drop Reimer this summer and go after a #1 goalie, bumping Bernier back to his backup role (where I think he belongs).

If either goalie were to be dumped today or at the end of next season it isn't a big loss.

You said he was one year away from being out of the league (one year ago)..... He's still in the league, so I guess in you're face.

I never once said reimer was better. But the bernier guys always seem to go there.

there is a reason they signed bernier for two years

reimer is gone at the end of this season ending this fan nonsense once and for all

bernier will be given every opportunity to assume the role.. and i am guessing with a more reasonable 30 shots a night to face.. he doesnt burn out and poop the bed.

i'll put money on it actually.
