Put differently, his fear of "making excuses" was a detriment to the team.

Has to be something to why a player would try and play through the injuries he described, and not let the team know about it. To the point where he can't even function in home life. Mind boggling.

I understand why they are doing that, but it's just plain weird.

No one typically wants to be at a pre-season game any longer than you have to be, but I might actually want to see this.

Maybe he just worried he'd lose his spot if he didn't play. Who knows?

an NFL kicker should be able to make a 44 yard FG in a Dome. With that said, I would have gone for it. Too much time left, Bryant is automatic and a TD would have forced Atl to score a TD

Exactly Parky and Kelly are both to blame

If this season ends up the same as the last two then you have to wonder
- funmaster18

Not sure if this was shared or not:

Takes the NHL teams and makes a roster composed of draft picks only. It's flawed a little, but interesting IMHO IMO. Horrible goaltending...

Forwards

Patrick Sharp—Jeff Carter—Steve Downie
Patrick Maroon—Sean Couturier—Dainius Zubrus
Scott Laughton—Mike Richards—Zac Rinaldo

Wait, did we draft Seidenberg or just sign him as a UFA? Cause if that's the case, we Signed Bobrovsky to his first NHL deal too.

I think they actually drafted him... one of their better late picks in the last 15 years

My thoughts on the Umberger injuries: 1) weren't the Sixers just fine $2 million for not fully disclosing Jrue Holliday's i believe stress fracture? In that same vein, shouldn't Columbus pay us? 2) why want he put through a thorough physical?

The only question I have about Umberger is this:

We all knew how bad he was playing. Everyone saw how ineffective he was. He was downright brutal for stretches.

So, he was hurt. Totally fine. Understandable. I get it. We all get it: He was hurt.

My question is this: How does a coaching staff and management staff go 69 games of watching Umberger play like he did and just not scratch before then? He was terrible!

I'm not ragging on the guy -- I wanted him to play well! But he was brutal! And it is baffling to me TO THIS DAY how a professional hockey club looked at how he was actually playing and didn't address it before GAME SEVENTY.

Yes: He was hurt. And I'm going to put it out there: I think he can have a bounceback year.

But it is beyond baffling to me how the Flyers looked at RJ Umberger last year and didn't address his lineup spot until Game 70. That will never, ever make any sense to me whatsoever.

Some of the injuries I beleive happened during the season. I believe the Flyers were aware of the injuries he had previously, if I remember correctly.
