Like Bruce said, you can't go wrong with Shure SM57 or 58 dynamic mics for live vocals....in the studio, condensors are better like the Rode NT1A's or NT2A's....though you can use a pair of Shure dynamic mics to get started

i was more than content
we also got paid $100 by some woman to let her daughter come up and sing with us.. which was interesting since we dont do covers LOL
