I have a feeling that the year after next, the cap may actually recede. With the Canadian dollar being so low, it's going to be hard to bring that revenue sharing money into the NHL treasury. Best to try and make as much cap-space going forward, because there will be young talent available, when the cap goes stagnant or goes down.

How many more days until training camp opens? I want to see some NHL style hockey. I hope that the braincramps......I mean braintrust at least allow the young guys an opportunity to make the big club. Just denying them the opportunity isn't right. I see good clubs allowing young guys to make their club, but just dismissing them and allowing a journeyman get the job just slows up their development. Just allow them to earn it.

Good teams have good veterans to insulate their young players and provide them a strong environment to grow in, with good examples of what it takes to be a pro. Leafs don't have that. Kids are better off in the minors with much less pressure.
Nylander migt make it a tough decision, but starting him in the AHL won't hurt him at all.
