Exactly, it is not the result of the games, this tournament really is about individual play, assessing their skill level.

Personally, I think Nylander was above every prospect for any team in this tournament..

Agreed. There wasn't really anyone else in his class.

I am hoping he was one of the "less motivated" guys in this tournament as he is already considered a top prospect. A year in AHL will tell us a lot more.
- Aetherial

let's hope so... think its a bit early for him to be labelled a bust... but not too early to call him out for what appeared to be a "less than full" effort.

then again.. he was dealt for Kessel.

I am not convinced Brown's game is going to translate to the NHL either.

Let's just hope the Leafs stick to the idea of developing these guys.

- Aetherial

I saw him in a playoff game against Erie a few years ago, and thought with his skating, he'd never have a chance. The following year, he looked like a different player. Apparently the same thing happened when he first entered junior.
I'm still not sure he'll ever be an NHLer, but he seems to be a guy that keeps elevating his game as his competition improves. Hard to write off a guy who does that consistently.

Marner wouldn't be eligible for the AHL next year. It's either NHL or back to Junior.

Sorry, worded that poorly. By next year, I meant the year after the coming one

I thought Sprong looked good for Pittsburgh throughout the tournament and so did Hudon for the Habs but he is one of the older players which brings me to why not have Brown, he is the same age.

If Sundin doesn't deserve it, does Sittler?
- vermie22

Hall of Famer, 981 games in a leaf uniform, 987 points, in the dead puck era, 27th all time in NHL points, 22nd all time in NHL goals, 34th all time in NHL assists.....why doesn't he Fake?

Not this year. Keep him in the AHL.

I havent cared about anything leaf related since the draft.....but did I hear Sundin will be a part of Legends row? Great player but is he really what the leafs consider to be "legend"? Leafs keep lowering that bar.

Another great weekend for the Jays....so glad to finally have a real sports team with actual stars to cheer for in this city.
They must either sweep or get 2 out of 3 against Atlanta.

- Fakepartofme

He's a (frank)ing legend and carried a poopty team on his back to make it respectable all on his own for 10 years

Thanks bud.

One thing that touches me and I really appreciate is my daughter calling me every night saying she misses me, that means the world to me, that is all that matters to me.

I've never quite understood the notion that the Leafs shouldn't honour their best players, simply because they didn't win the Stanley Cup.

If the Hockey Hall of Fame thought Sundin was good enough, is it really so upsetting that Sundin is part of a collection of all-time Leaf greats on a little wall outside the ACC?

More and more I'm starting to believe you're right, we just don't respect our stars. It surprises me even that Josh Donaldson is getting the love he is, but it's been only a year. We somehow managed to run Robbie Alomar out of town after six years.

I knew exactly why you asked his age, you're itching to say kadri is a bust.
I wonder how you'd feel if we had drafted MPS instead?

I understood what you meant but he still won't be eligible to play in the AHL in 2016/2017. You have to be 20 before December 31st of the season in order to play in the AHL. So he will still have to play 2 more years of junior if he doesn't make the NHL.

I think they should tweak the rule for high draft picks. Leafs will be in the same boat as Tampa was with Drouin this year. Probably could of used some seasoning in the A but had absolutely nothing left to gain by playing in Junior so was forced into the NHL.

Strangely enough, he was one of the few forwards that actually went into the corners and got the puck back.

In what world is 0,61 point game considered a bust?

absolutely he should be there.

I just hope that the organization doesn't overlook some of the old guys... I'd love to see Red Kelly up there - particularly with some of those guys getting up in age. George Armstrong. Keon( I understand the issue)... but frankly they should put him out there... if he doesn't want to be - he should be specifically asked that question publicly - end all the nonsense. Paul Henderson.
