It turns out that you can consume a lot of beer during a double header. Haven't done that in ages.
4.5 games up, with a win tomorrow they'd be 5.5 up. i'm not even that worried about tulo because they've been winning games with him doing nothing offensively already. it was only a matter of time before he started hitting but meh, their offense is still stacked. - daeth
He's so solid though. They will moss Tulo. |

If Goins wasn't a defensive wizard I'd be worried. |

Only thing missing is Mats in his Muskoka chair, with Tie Domi standing beside him, with a serving towel over his left wrist and serving Mats a drink, on a silver tray. That's how I'll remember Mats Sundin. Not lost is his first trip to Detroit, after Cujo signed there. He took his Rat pack over to pay homage to Curtis and left out their new keeper, Eddie Belfour. I also remember him getting his cabal together, with the rest of the players with no trade deals, and they all refused to be traded. It's why we have the current mess with this roster, since his acolytes would not waive their no trade contracts.......see Tomas Kaberle for Jeff Carter and a first rounder. Thanks for the memories Mats!

My first impressions of Leafs Rookie Camp? We stink! We have a group of midgets, who should be competitive with an OHL club. If this is our future, then it'll look allot like our past. I guess the big club needs to stink for another 5 years, near the bottom of the league, so they can actually draft some players that we can use. We still haven't drafted a number one centre or number one defenseman. Lets keep drafting tiny little wingers....that'll work against some of the larger clubs in the NHL. |

I guess that makes both of us this morning. I'd rather be outside working out, but too much of a monsoon rain happening all night and all morning.

Yeah, we've had this system that isn't moving too fast, hanging over eastern Ontario. Hopefully tomorrow, it'll be out of the region.
Trying to spur some conversation today.....it's pretty depressing in Leafs land as well. I was hoping that our rookie camp invitees would take the hockey world by storm, but our two chief rivals defeated us.....and they're playoff teams! Time will tell, with this group of players, but see our farm system has too too many of the same kind of players on the roster. How many smallish type of players do we need? Sure....it's good to have puck movers, but we need some toughness and size, to get the puck out of the corners and along the boards to our skill guys. Some size up the middle wouldn't hurt either. The Leafs management is too fixated on skill players with speed and quickness. This doesn't bode well for the future. |

Best offence in the league. Arguably the best defence in the league. But the pitching scares me. |
