It's not so much his value vis a vis his contract that makes it difficult, it's how many teams of the limited number on his trade list even want to acquire him and are in a position to do so. Even if they could have gotten more, it wouldn't have been much more.

Well, I suppose all of those allegations seem pretty plausible. Steinbrenner involved in Iran-Contra, Posada and Jeter banging in the sauna...all the pieces fit.

Not too worried about these predictions. Kapanen fell down the depth chart in Pittsburgh's prospects also. You really think that defenseman is going to amount to anything? The draft pick is the only hope of any NHL player at all. The Leafs got completely shafted in the Kessel deal. - Aetherial

It's pathetic what they got for Kessel, easily one of the top 10 best players in the league...and it's really going to show on the Pens. They could have and should have gotten much more for Kessel, if the market wasn't hot right now due to his worst season to date....wait until he turns it around under Babcock and trade him while he's at his highest...Vanek got a better return than Kessel, thats pathetic.
