Closes comparison I can find for Nylander is Nick Backstrom. Nylander has had better numbers than him at every level and at this stage at Backstom's career he had a 69pt rookie season. He was playing on a line with Ovi when he put up 112 pts though.

Nylander is going to be the next Sundin.

Morning Leafers. .....
So after watching the LeafsTV replay of the first rookie game, here's what I came away with:

Nylander will be a force. Noticeable and dominant every time he was on the ice
Dermott was very impressive. Smooth, slick and fast. Decent shot too. Rielly 2.0
Gauthier is still slow and has next to zero offensive instinct. Looked good on the draw.
Valiev is very steady, calm, safe and smart in both ends.
Soshnikov is super skilled and confident. Could be the breakout Marlie and first one
called up.
Kapanen: See Soshnikov. Great hands and knows where to position himself.
Dzierkals is quick, confident and goes into the dirty areas.
Marner looked tentative and nervous, tried to dish the puck too much too quickly,
but easy to tell the skill is there.

So far I'm overall impressed with the kids. Good sign.
