It's very important to keep track of who's working out with Gary Roberts.
Mcdavid can deadlift close to 500 now.

Leafs/Babcock dont want to trade Phaneuf... - Fruitcakenipple
Leafs have been trying to move Phaneuf for over a season now.
Obviously not going to scream out loud that Phaneuf is most overpaid player in NHL; really does not do any good to potential return.
With current cap situation and estimations on cap developments, Leafs would be happy to get a late 1st or an early 2nd and 3rd in return for Phaneuf; biggest gain there is to get rid of that ridiculous contract.
Phaneuf is dead weight for this organization, only negative impact. |

So...
let's say Voynov is obliged to leave the country.
And LA will need to take Richards' contract back on books.
Richards' put on LTIR because of 'disease' (drug dependence).
Toronto trade Phaneuf for Richards + Toffoli.
Richards can than work with Toronto medical staff on when he would be ready to be taken of off LTIR.
This should work - MaximusAurelius
SORRY, I CAN'T SEE L.A. DOING THAT.

Boyes
Horton
Parenteau
Setoguchi
Best crop of RW in the league by far.......DeLorean sold separately. . |

Some still ignore that part where the only team interested was Babcocks former team and when let left Det had no further interest..
Again the day Babcock was hired end any hope of Dion being moved..

JVR - Kadri - Parenteau
Lupul - Bozak - Boyes / Marner / Setoguchi
Glencross/Matthias - Arcobello / Holland - Panik
Winnik - Spalling - Komarov
Holland / Arcobello - Beck 13&14 FW
I think Glencross needs to outplay Matthias to get a contract on team.
Boyes will probably make it as 2nd line RW, UNLESS Marner outplays him (significantly) during pre-season (or Setoguchi).
3rd line C between Arcobello and Holland.
I personally feel it's more probable that Boyes makes the team than Glencross; would be difficult for both of them to make the team based on current contracts already on team; let alone all three of Glencross, Setoguchi and Boyes making team.
Not sure what kind of contracts these players can sign, but I assume they all would need to go through waivers.. none of the above players are waiver exempt I think? |

LA was another team interested in trading for Phaneuf pre trade deadline.
Leafs weren't willing at the time to take back Richards.
LA is still #1 on Phaneuf's list for sure.
He is a way better fit in a 2nd D-line role in LA as well.
(p.s. maybe Babcock was the guy actually blocking the trade on Phaneuf; you don't know what happened there). |

It's going to be funny when no young players make the team and it ends up looking like the team Burke iced in his first year. Who is this years Frogren? |

He was probably a top 10 forward in his prime.Up and down the list with the likes of Forsberg, Sakic, Modano, Kariya, Sellanne, Jagr, Lindros, LeClair, Messier, Jagr, Naslund, Bertuzzi, Alfreddson, Yzerman, Federov, Shannahan, Weight, Thornton, Nolan and others, at various times. Good company. |
