i just got a treat.. my sister Kristie just popped by my work with some pants she hemmed for me.. and my lil 4 year old niece Harla was with her

we had a great chat about her bouncy balls.. and how she mistakenly left one in Auntie Melissa's van and now Matthew has it and she needs to get it back LOL

I'm hoping the opposite happens... that the plan to use rentals works only so far as the rentals or at least a few of them play well enough to showcase themselves.....

I would like to see the team get off to a slow-middling start so that there's no "false hope crowd" among the fanbase.

i) hoping for lost of defensive game focus which should ONCE and for all show us what the Leafs have in Bernier and in Reimer
ii) hoping Phaneuf plays a real leadership role even when the team doesn't perform well... along with guys like Lupul... leadership matters when you are losing and will go a long way to keeping the players focussed
iii) lots of one goal losses
iv and hoping above anything else that Babcock rewards players who play hard with ice time...

don't care if they finish last or fifth from the bottom... but definitely do NOT want a finish out of bottom five.

if the team is at the bottom of the standings then we'll get a real idea how much guys like Lupul, JvR, Bozak can and are willing to keep their focus.

getting rid of kessel was a key move. to me that tells me he simply isnt the most coachable fellow in the world

definitely finding it funny that so much is being made of Kessel spending time with Roberts in the summer... if he was in shape previously why would this be so noteworthy.

I hope the Kessel scores 40+ playing with the Pens... but to continue with the team the same going into a new season with Babcock coming on board would make no sense.

exactly. Really happy that Winnik came back for that reason.

Winnik and Santorelli worked hard - particularly so early in the season last year. Their departures were noticeable after the trade deadline
