he wont be eligible.

he has only played two years of junior and wont be 20 by Dec 31 2017

he would need 4 years of major junior or be 20 by Dec 31 2017

he will meet neither criteria

two more years leading the knights. bet on it.

Thing is he doesnt turn 20 til pretty much the seasons end.. so in the 2016 camp they will either have to keep him on the big club or send him back down no?

it just seems to me that having him go full time NHL for 2016-17 seems to go against the grain of the develop slowly and properly mantra they are preaching

but could he play for/in Orlando for a year?

he wont be ready

he will have zero pro experience.

two more years in junior.. then half a season with the marlies and IF he adapts to the pro game well he will be called up to the leafs.

my guess is you wont see him playing for the leafs until 2018-19

- Dozzer

Well if he needs 2-3 more yrs junior/AHL than taking him over Hannfin may have been a big mistake....

nah.. keep him in the NA game where the hunters can groom him into exactly what they want

i wouldnt be shocked if the leafs applied for an exemption from the transfer agreement to let him play AHL at 19

Good question, I am going on the assumption he can play on the Marlies for the 16-17... then if he is putting up great numbers (like Nylander did ppg'ish) call him up later in the season.

He can't.

Will Marner be ready for the NHL when he's 31 or 32?

Why keep him away if he's ready?...Rielly seems to be doing just fine..The league today is full of young players that have no problem playing in the NHL....

he isnt even eligible to play for the Marlies til 2017-2018

UNLESS the leafs apply for an exemption to the transfer agreement

If it takes him any longer than that he's not the talent u expect to get when drafting #4..
