Well half way or late in the season like I said is like Jan 2017 on.

He had 2 points a game in his draft year...only a few players have went back to jr after a season like that.. Drouin is one...cant think of another atm

will be hard to keep him down that long

Thing is he doesnt turn 20 til pretty much the seasons end.. so in the 2016 camp they will either have to keep him on the big club or send him back down no?

it just seems to me that having him go full time NHL for 2016-17 seems to go against the grain of the develop slowly and properly mantra they are preaching

he has only played two years of junior and wont be 20 by Dec 31 2017

he would need 4 years of major junior or be 20 by Dec 31 2017

he will meet neither criteria

he will have zero pro experience.

two more years in junior.. then half a season with the marlies and IF he adapts to the pro game well he will be called up to the leafs.

my guess is you wont see him playing for the leafs until 2018-19
