I'll make some Bold predictions too since anyone can do this:
1. Art Ross goes to Gustav Nyquist
2. Jack Capuano is fired 20 games into the season
3. Steven Stamkos is traded before the deadline
4. Ovechkin has a career low in goals, failing to hit 25
5. The Flames win the Presidents trophy with 65+ wins
6. The Lightning miss the playoffs
7. The Sabres make the playoffs
8. Carl Hagelin scores 40 goals
9. The Coyotes finish with a single digit win total
10. Derek Stepan is a Hart trophy candidate - SpeedBlue91

how many goals do you think Nash will score? - jimbro83
Let g(x,y) be a function such that:
I. −1
II.
ln(1+g(x,y)1−g(x,y))+2ytan−1(yg(x,y))=2(y2+1)x,
for x∈R,y>1.
Then
i. Show that g(x,y) is increasing in x.
ii. Find
limy→∞g(x,y).
iii. Show that g(x,y) is differentiable.
iv. Find limy→∞∂∂xg(x,y).

the Rangers will go from a President's trophy winner to a non-playoff team because Rick Nash will go from 42 to 35 goals. |

there is a video of the Rangers top 10 goals last season and it's dominated by Kreider, Hayes and Stepan, all guys with birthdays in the 1990's, and a captain with a 1989 birthday. |

I think the Rags will be in the postseason, but any team can miss the playoffs. How'd the 2014 Presidents' cup winners and SC winners do last season? |

the Bruins had serious injury and cap issues last season, and Chara got old quick.

Bruins won the President's trophy in 2013-14 and then missed the playoffs, that's the comparison to the 2014-15 Rangers I am sticking with. |

If the Kings can miss the Playoffs anyone can. I still think they're one of if not the best teams in hockey. Them missing playoffs was nothing but bad luck. |

They had some underachieving players based on their salaries (Stoll, Richards, Brown). Nothing kills a team more than overpaid players. |

that's not the reasoning Tanner is giving for predicting the Rangers to miss the playoffs
but, I'll point out the following:
Lundqvist missed two months last year
McDonagh, Stepan, Dan Boyle, Kevin Klein all missed one month
Rangers still had best record in league, 3rd most goals, 3rd best GAA

I think the Kings are a very strong team, but both years that they won they weren't exactly dominating the league. 2011-12 they finished 13th overall in the league, 8th in the West, and 3rd in the Pacific. 2013-14 they finished 10th overall in the league, 6th in the West, and 3rd in the Pacific.
That's not to take anything away from their accomplishments but I don't know if I'd go as far as potentially calling them one of the best teams in hockey.
I'm a big NY Giants fan and I certainly don't consider them even remotely close to the best team in the league either of the two recent years they have won the Super Bowl in. |

Rags were one of the healthier teams in the league last year. In fact, I distinctly remember you coming to the Pens board and celebrating Letang's concussion with that comparison. |

Because I attribute their success to a non-repeatable year by Rick Nash, and magical goaltending. Its 99% likely that whoever is their new back up can't replicate Lundqvist in the way Talbot did, not to mention Lundqvist sustaining his level with no decline is also unlikely. - James_Tanner
Why?? What tells you he won't be that good again? Until his play starts to slip, then I see no reason to think that. Rick Nash can't score 40 goals again? why? I guess Ovi can't score more goals this year than last as well (no im not comparing the two players..lol) Im an NYR fan, but by no means was the goaltending magical or out of this world. Ofcourse, both tenders made great saves, but MANY of the wins was b/c of the NYR defensive corp. and team/transition play.
Maybe in 2-3 years I can see your point, but now??? not buying |

The Rangers have a chance to miss the playoffs.
I don't see a future that involves Carolina making it and the Rangers don't.

That was me. Although I wasn't exactly celebrating his concussion, I just kept quoting posts that contained lineups with a completely healthy lineup and saying "that will never happen" |

Did any of your predictions come true last year? If I remember right you guaranteed Domi would win the calder and The Coyotes would make the playoffs and that made me think you were an idiot. Now this year... |
