are these real predictions?....I cant wait for your Crazy Bold predictions blog
- DDM-Coga

They're as real as predictions can be. Obviously if you were concerned about accuracy you say: Cup Pitts and Chicago. Goals OV Scoring Title Crosby Breakout Team Sabres Bergeron Selke etc.

As a rule, I hate predictions because generally what you see is 90% of people give nine near obvious predictions + one "crazy" one. The other 10% of people are just making wild guesses they can later point to and say Hurray for me.

But I also really like them because they're fun to read, so it's quite the quandary.

You can count me in the later 10% though. Hopefully some come true, it'll be an interesting year if so.

this is another one where this time he says the oilers will win the west and the avs won't regress.

http://www.hockeybuzz.com/blog.php?post_id=62889

he just keeps pushing his own narrative into his predictions. he loves the oilers, overvalues players, and is the closest thing this site has had to cloutier since he left. he's basically the western-conference garth equivalent with fewer spelling mistakes.

Unfair assessment because you fail to contextualize those predictions with this direct quote:

Keeping with the spirit of what I truly think a prediction is worth, let me throw down on three things I think can happen. I am not saying they will, I am just saying that the odds of them occurring are more than zero percent.

In my opinion ripping me for predictions that followed that statement is totally bogus and unradical.

#4 on that list just happened. (Essentially)

Only #6 and #7 failed to come to pass. And obviously #5 was a joke.

I'm just breaking your shoes Tanner. If you keep hatin' on the Rangers you and me are total BFF's in my eyes.

No, huge fan. Also a huge fan of Yandle and their goalie. I don't hate the Rangers I just try to look at them objectively. I hope they win since you love em so much, it's nothing to me.

John Tavares of the Islanders says that Ryan McDonagh is “one of the most complete defensemen in the league.

Tavares added, “not only does he skate so well, but he does a lot of the gritty things – blocks shots, gets in the corner, clears the front of the net. He’s great at moving the puck, he’s great at joining the rush, so he can play any style you want.” (The Hockey News Yearbook 2015-16)

Honestly I was shocked at the accuracy level. I mean, it all took a year, not a few months, but what the hell?

Consider this: McDavid is supposedly the best player to enter the league since Crosby. Crosby has never had anyone close to Taylor Hall as his winger, as far as I know, so this should be interesting.

look at them objectively?

they won the President's trophy last season and you predicted them to miss the playoffs when 90% of the team is returning

god knows i wouldn't want to be unradical. the teenage mutant ninja turtles would hate me.

you had that quote in front of yet another "oilers morph into hockey's best team" prediction. the avs regression prediction was from before the quote, and therefore apparently more open to being ridiculed because it wasn't preceded by the "now this one is crazy so it doesn't count".

John Tavares of the Islanders says that Ryan McDonagh is “one of the most completely huge dirtbags in the league.

Tavares added, “not only does he punch kittens, but he does a lot of gritty things – blocks shots, stab old ladies, clears the front of the net. He’s great at moving the puck, he’s a noted Nickleback fan, so he is pretty much the worst person on the planet.” (The Hockey News Yearbook 2015-16)

That I'll have a xylophone solo on the new Tool album?

Swedish dance-music sensation Robyn will stalk me over the internet and Axl Rose, Barny Bentall, Sufjan Stevens and one of those clown possee guys will form the most successful super-group since CSNY.

Because I attribute their success to a non-repeatable year by Rick Nash, and magical goaltending. Its 99% likely that whoever is their new back up can't replicate Lundqvist in the way Talbot did, not to mention Lundqvist sustaining his level with no decline is also unlikely.

I'll make some Bold predictions too since anyone can do this:
1. Art Ross goes to Gustav Nyquist
2. Jack Capuano is fired 20 games into the season
3. Steven Stamkos is traded before the deadline
4. Ovechkin has a career low in goals, failing to hit 25
5. The Flames win the Presidents trophy with 65+ wins
6. The Lightning miss the playoffs
7. The Sabres make the playoffs
8. Carl Hagelin scores 40 goals
9. The Coyotes finish with a single digit win total
10. Derek Stepan is a Hart trophy candidate

Now THIS I can believe...
although if you want a real chance on the Tool album, I'd go polka style with the accordion...

I don't mind the punching kittens and stabbing geriatrics, but I think you went a tad to far with the Nickleback thing.. imo, tbh

For what it's worth, Nash had similar seasons 2 other times in his career. Maybe more if you look at his pace before an injury in some seasons.
