They won't be without him....and to be honest, if the Leafs signed Stamkos...I'd say they instantly become contenders. People say why would he want to sign with a crappy team? Because the team will no longer be crappy once he is leading it...quite simple logic. |

They were saying the same thing about Babcock...If I were in Stamkos position, why would I not want to sign with Toronto? He'd instantly become a legend....I know some enjoy the living under the radar and just going through life...but if I were given the opportunity, I'd jump on it in a heart beat.

Lupul was under him for a bit...as a rookie if I recall.
When Joffrey Lupul was drafted in 2002, he walked to the stage at the Air Canada Centre, put on an Anaheim jersey and shook hands with all the right people.
One of them was his new coach, Mike Babcock.
